Court.........

I had a reprieve there for awhile, thinking T's court hearing was going to be postponed.  Well, the lawyer called my husband (it's so good that he's taking on this role and is communicating to the lawyer instead of me) and hubby calls me in a panic - telling me that the PO will not let this hearing be set back because he's "pissed' and wants to send our son to the youth correctional facility.  I learned later that he is angry that we tried to put this court date off.  WE didn't suggest it - the lawyer did.  At first I panicked, too,  but then I took a deep breath and remembered that this is just the arraignment.  He will only plead what his lawyer recommends.  All I can say is I'm glad I hire this guy.  We almost went in on this alone.    I also know that T's counselor will go to bat for him.  I'm not sure about the caseworker, however.  She is the doom and gloom type.  Also - like T said to her one day "you don't even know me" when she started in on where he was headed if he didn't clean up his act.  She says what he didn't want to hear, yet at the same time - it was her delivery that would turn him off.  She's very jaded.  T's counselor has been in the business as long as she has but his role is a bit different in relating to T, I guess. T doesn't know about this hearing.  I think he assumed it would be postponed like we did.  Oh well....it is what it is. Update:  I had a heart to heart talk with T.  He is sick about this hearing.  He told me that when the PO visited him in school, he told T that he wants him in jail.  Sure - NOW that he's doing very well.  I told T that he won't be sent to jail tomorrow.  He's afraid he could be locked up until the next hearing.  I told him no way.  What a waste of taxpayers money to send him away.  Why couldn't they do something back when we BEGGED the courts to help us? Jail was looking pretty good back then.  I'm glad I'm going to Washington - because I will have the opportunity to vent this screwed up system. BTW -  I got hit in the face again playing soccer.  That's 3 games in a row!  This time it was exclusively my nose.  It hurts.  To where glasses, is uncomfortable.  It's a good thing no one can notice the swelling and bruising because that would be worse than the pain.  I re-injured my collar bone, too.  I'm not sure if it's fractured but if it is the break is miniscule.   My physican friend told me that I could still play soccer but be careful.  Yeah - right......

Geez you have to remember WHERE caseworker\'s come from...you said it yourself TAXPAYER\'s money. Not funny really. I really need to go back in your journals and read all the details leading up to this event so I fully understand where you\'re coming from but it sounds as if your son is making an effort and the caseworker could care less. But you did the right thing in going into court with representation. Never go in alone to a criminal court! Never! I\'m sorry for saying this but you cannot tell me that everyone in prison has done what they are supposedly in there for. Hope everything goes well for him. Keep me posted ok? As for your collarbone, it\'s nothing to be messed with. Have you tried a chiropracter? Hope you get to feeling better. SHaron

I would love to see you play soccer! That is the coolest thing.
Hang in there. I honestly don\'t think anything bad will happen.

You do NOT want to be wearing a cervical collar....spend time on my unit and you might be \"scared sensible!\" ! Find another physical outlet and give your body a few weeks to mend....get a running buddy or take up lacross, at least they have a face shield. Also, there is plenty of research about the minor concussions over time and the brain damage that accumulates and affects the quality of life as you age.....TAKE CARE!!!!!
