Co-Owner Lunch
Hubs is doing lunch with his brother and SIL today. The co-owners. The "Doing Lunch" is an 80's slang for busy people blowing off an undesireable person. It was very popular among the long defunct "Yuppie" crowd hubs and his friends were merrily mocking when I first met them. Me? Throw away kid here. . . I wanted to BE a yuppie. My favorite thing about the cute stud who introduced me to his buddies was his claim that he wanted to be a house husband. Domestic support for my upwardly mobile climb? Sold. Alas, his claim didnae survive the trial runs. I almost dumped the chump for the failure, but here I am, three decades later, still chewing the chump. I am solidly in dump-the-chump mode this morning. Prayers in progress. "Yuppie" is now obsolete slang, but hubby qualifies. I don't. My strictly personal financial portfolio is as empty as it was when I listened to hubs and company mocking Yuppies. I don't see it as a failure, though. Letting God lead the Dance.
The co-owner lunch is happening in Austin, 189 miles to the south of the property under review, 150 miles or so from the in-law family center. Dining details irrelevant. I am not so talented with executive functions. Even less interested. Awaiting results.
Meanwhile, in my own strictly personals, still hoping to get the truck road prepped. Praying for focus. Still working inner child theories in trying to coax the two small heads out of their imaginary pond.

A distraction from mind thinking that drives me batty, is my coloring book. I personally prefer fine point color markers to pens, crayons, or colored pencils...just because they can be used to "Not Go Outside The Lines...there is my 'focus'..above link are colors and the emotional connection for calming the mind/emotions...hope this one is better for 'the hearing' you need for peace. Best to you. ml
Been tackling a new song. "Tower Song" written by Townes van Zandt, a local hero from hubby's old 'hood.
A mother's breast, a newborn child
A poet's tear, and drunken smile
Can't help thinkin' all the while
Their meaning won't be wasted
I am actually learning Nanci Griffith's version, but I have yet to find it on the Internet. I admit I haven't looked too awful hard. I have it on the Tribute to a Poet CD.
Artificial lights might be getting more painful as my eyes compensate for the hearing loss. Maybe. Dunno. Maybe the eyes is going, too. I've heard rumors that happens in the best of lives.
Guess today is a waiting day. Waiting on the results from the co-owner tribunal? Hubs hates it when I talk like that. Can't help it, babycakes. I come from a long line of family businesses. Scared to look on my father's side, but my mother's side is downright small-town respectable and still guilty of family business. My mother tried, but . . . yaddah and blah. Blah and yaddah. I have also lived in the so-called third world and done allot of work in the immigrant communities. Family tribunals are a familiar concept to me. Not one I wish to insult.
Whatever the evers of those whats. . . I find myself on pins and needles awaiting the update from hubs.
The good news is that the nervous energy is flowing smoothly into the guit-chi. New-to-me song coming along nicely. I don't consider a song learned until I can play it easily, many days in a row, but it is a good start.
Thanks for the diversion of Townes van Zandt music, from endless waste of time.... lost days....
