Clear Liquid Diet

My pain was around yesterday morning but then went away so I ate very small amounts. Today, the pain is back worse than ever and I've decided to follow the clear liquid diet recommended for diverticulitis for two or three days. I haven't been officially diagnosed with diverticulitis but letting my bowels rest can't hurt. Eating solids makes my symptoms return if not right away the next day.

Sorry to hear how you\'re feeling-does jello agree with you during these times? And bullion?

Jello does so I\'m going to get that. I\'m vegetarian so I will get vegetable broth, popsicles with no fruit pulp or pieces in them, and I have iced tea. I have liquid water inhancers that I put in my water. I can also have fruit juice with no pulp. After two or three days will slowly introduce low fiber foods like canned or cooked fruit without skin or seeds, cooked vegetables with no skin, eggs, fish, fruit juice little or no pulp, low fiber cereals, milk, yogurt, cheese, white rice, pasta and noodles. After that slowly add higher fiber foods. I\'m in pain right now with the horrible burning cramping in my lower left abdomen. :(

I won\'t be seeing the gastroenterologist any time soon! I got the name of the doctor and the number from medical records today because the ER doctor never wrote any discharge instructions. I called the office today to find out they are closed until October 14th! It\'s due to Canadian Thanksgiving which is on October 13th! It\'s always like that here! My family doctor\'s office is closed until October 15th but they have been closed since October 2nd!
