Clear colonoscopy but still no answers
My surgeon's secretary sent me the wrong time for the colonoscopy in the email. She said it was 11:15am but it was supposed to be 10:30am. She called wondering where I was. Because of that I felt rushed. My surgeon said that there was no narrowing, no polyps. He wants me to try metamucil again and to try dicetel. He didn't talk to me for long and I was out of it so I don't remember everything he said. I called and left a message at his office but his secretary never called me back nor responded to my emails. I'm happy that there aren't any polyps or anything else but I want to know what's going on. I had to look up dicetel because he didn't tell me what it was for. It's an anti-spasmotic mainly used for IBS. I just want to know what's going on. If it's IBS plus recovery from surgery or something like celiac disease. I'm just frustrated because I was hoping for answers. My stomach is bothering me again right now. I'm going to try one dose of dicetel tonight when I eat again. I have to take it with a lot of water with food. I have to stay upright after taking it or it can hurt my esophagus which makes me nervous. I only got a month's supply to try it. I can get the other two months if it works well for me.

I\'m glad to know there were no polyps! I hope the medicine they gave you works for you. My gi doctor says with ibs it may take time to find the right medicine because everyone is so different with their ibs and any other bowel issues they might have. I was finally able to go when my boyfriend got me a bottle of magnesium citrate. That was one issue. I also have a groin strain. I\'ve got an ice pack on. My boyfriend is sick with food poisoning and has some minor allergy issues right now with some sneezing and coughing. He\'s switching to Zyrtec.
Thanks, I hope it works too. I\'m glad magnesium citrate worked for you. Hope the ice pack helps. Also hope your boyfriend feels better soon!*hugs*
My surgeon\'s office just told me that because my colonoscopy was clear I won\'t get another one for 3 years. I will still have the yearly ct scans for the next 5 years. I wish my surgeon had told me this yesterday. I assume that the CEA/CA 125 testing continues every 3 months.
That\'s good they are keeping a close eye on things. Today I\'m still having problems with the groin injury. My boyfriend is starting to feel better. I had a rough night last night. I\'m dealing with all the grief of losing the babies and my sister is going to have one before long. We are feeling pretty down, and we are trying to watch a movie now.
I\'m glad they are keeping a close eye on things too. Sorry you and your boyfriend are having such a hard time!*hugs* I hope that you both enjoy the movie!*hugs*
always wonder which is worse-when a dr finds what is wrong or doesn\'t :(
I am glad they he didn\'t find anything worrisome but wish I knew what was going. My family doctor didn\'t call me back to answer my question about CEA and CA 125 testing and my surgeon\'s office didn\'t answer my emails! My surgeon\'s office won\'t answer my phone calls so I prefer using email but they don\'t always respond to those either!
So sorry I\'m so late getting here. I always hate it when the Dr tries talking to me after being put under. As if I\'m going to remember it! I\'m glad they didn\'t find anything but I know how frustrating it is to not know what is causing our symptoms. If we don\'t know the cause it can make us feel like we\'ll never feel better because we can\'t fix what we can\'t find, right? But what I\'ve found is that sometimes our bodies are pretty good at fixing themselves. With these illnesses, it\'s easy to think nothing is working correctly because we feel so crappy. But there are hundreds of processes happening every minute that go unoticed. Our bodies are pretty miraculous.
I have IBS so I know how painful it can be. With your surgery, I can only imagine how It\'s intensified! But I have a gut feeling (no pun intended), you are not always going to feel this way. I think the more you heal, the more your body adjusts, it\'s going to get better. That\'s my prayer for you.
Sending you lots of supportive hugs my friend...
