Class of 64

Saw some pictures in the newspaper of a class reunion of my high school.  When I was in the school, it was very small.  Only 210 students in 9-12 grades.  My senior class was the biggest to graduate in the school's history,,,58 students.  My parents had transferred me from my larger hometown school so I'd have more opportunities.  And when I went out there for for my junior year, it looked good.  But, what seemed to be wouldn't be.  There were still the "clicks".  There were still people that thought they were better than you.  The only thing missing from the larger school were the bullies.  No bullies in this school.  But, we were close to each other.  All our classes had the same people in them.  We knew all the kids in the school.  Our senior year brought us closer on the outside, but little on the inside.  It was hard to keep up with your school friends outside of class.  Alot of them still lived on farms and the others lived in three different small towns in the district.  Living in still another town, it was really hard.  Luckily, I was in DeMolay in the city and had a lot of friends from the old school.  On the night of our graduation, we swore our undying love.  Forget it.  I attended my 20th year reunion and it hadn't changed.  Never heard about a 30th reunion.  Heard about this reunion, but decided not to go.  I'm ashamed of myself.  The way I look.  The way I live.  Where I live.  Looking through the photos, I didn't see one person from my class.  So much for undying love.  So much for the wonderful days of high school.  Days that never were.

Ahhh....the good old days of school. Don\'t remember anything good from those days. You were lucky with the smaller class sizes. I think we had 200 kids per class. LOL Seemed like it, anyway. I remember going to this one school that was right by Yankee Stadium. We were aloud to go to the school yard when finished with lunch. If there wasn\'t too much traffic, you could actually hear the crowd roar & cheer. I used to get goosebumps. Now, the house that Ruth built is being torn down. What a sin. Breaks my heart.
I\'m so totally with you in regards to the being ashamed stuff. I feel the same exact way. It\'s sad but.....Life goes on.
Take care, my friend.........

I\'M NOT ASHAMED OF MYSELF BUT I UNDERSTAND HOW YOU FEEL. I\'M 100% DISABLED DUE TO DEPRESSION, PANIC ATTACKS, THEN SHOCK TREATMENTS. I DRIVE AN OLD CAR, ETC SO I APPRECIATE YOU!!

No shame in order. I never was in the clicks, just not my thing. I liked to be outdoors, biking, hiking. Other liked parties, smoking, (forgive me foxy), etc. I live 40 miles from that large city school (500 in class) and don\'t know where any of the graduation class are. Also we had half years so graduated in January. By June the Half years students were in a different world.

I\'m thinking of going to my 20th in November. I haven\'t been to any of them so far, and it\'s mainly because I don\'t want people to judge me based on my weight. I\'m getting to the point where I can say it doesn\'t matter what they may think, and I may just have a good time. If I don\'t have fun, then I can leave. Our class was probably 350 kids. There were vicious clicks, and I basically stuck to the geeks and metal heads but was \"accepted\" by the others. Whatever. Time has gone by, and I\'m as big as I\'ve ever been but I don\'t want my fear of being rejected to stop me from taking chances and taking some risks. The reunion is in November. I may be in NJ when it\'s going on...but if I\'m not, I may just have to go. I can\'t believe it has been 20 years since I graduated high school!!!
