CiPD & HEART FAILURE
Hello all, my father health issues began about 2 years ago. He was diagnosed with CiPD
Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIPD) is a disease of the nerves with weakness, numbness, and pain that can occur anytime in life. Nerve roots swell and destroy the myelin sheath (fatty tissue) around the nerves, which causes CIDP
The pass 2 weeks ny siblings and i have been called from work to get to ICU because our father code blue 2 times each time we have been xalled in less than 2 weeks .
We had heard rumors about him being on meth, some said cocaine and even opium . Our father has never been rhe type of person to let his children know anything bad about him so of course we didnt believe the rumors until these incidents came about.
The doctors told us about the cocaine and meth the 1st two set of heart attacks and what he took from the situation was that he needed to stop smoking cigarettes, here recently with the last 2 heart attacks(2 in the same day) they mentioned opium . They said thst my father heart was beating at only 10 % and he just turned 48 yrs old on the 18th. Its alot because he chooses to continue to hang out with his FEMALE friends and i believe they all play apart of the drugs . I know that he is an adult but those are the only people i know of him to be around outside of family.
The doctors said that they have done all they can do and we asked about him receiving a pacemaker witch that implanted today. Of course he still tells his children that there are no drugs but we know the truth .this is very stressful. He is on 20 plus medications now , they said that he hadnt taken his CiPD medication in 3 months up until here recently in the hospital. Im just so concerned that when he leaves the hospital...lord forbid, but something else happens. I just need some advice. What should we do ? How can we handle this ?
