Church Anniversary

Sunday March 6th, will be my church's 5th Anniversary.  We re-opened this church after it had been closed for 3-1/2 years.  The old church's roof was leaking, some of the ceiling tile had fell in and it was going to go down hill in a hurry, if something wasn't done.  One of the last attendees came to my twin brother and asked what could be done to save the old church.  He got a group together, including me, and we partitioned the owners of the church if they would consider selling us the building.  They said they would so, we purchased the building.
We canvassed the community, due to being 12 miles from town, to see if there would be any interest in attending services.  We got favorable replies so, we started the fix up and remodeling.  We put on a new roof, new windows, built an addition on the front and installed restrooms, ( that it never had).  We installed a new furnace and new Central Air, and added a steeple.
We started with 6 members, my twin brother, his wife, the little lady who proposed the idea, her son, my wife and I.  Now we have 100 members, we have baptized 53 and, we owe for nothing, we are debt free.  I have personally led over 40 of these members to the Lord.
Sunday, we are having our regular services, dinner after the service and at 2pm, we are having a Gospel Group come and do a concert for us, that I have known for years.  I met them when I sang Gospel Music with Living Proof for 8 years.
We are looking forward to a great day of fellowship and great music.  The Lord has blessed this little church.  I am blessed to be the Pastor there.  This is the church that my mother was raised in.  It was a Church of the Brethren then, it is now a non-denominational Church.
PS. I wrote a poem about this old church years ago.  I will try to find it and post it here.
