Christmas Party at Work

Today was our volunteer Christmas party. The food was good and pretty healthy. There wasn't anything dripping in fat or anything, so it was good. I had curry chicken, rice and beans, and some roasted pork. I met my calorie goal for today. I'm actually in range for everything- calories, protein, carbs, fat and sodium. I think that's great. The party was nice... I got to meet some new people and we just hung out chatting for a while. We even had the CEO come in and thank us. We got poinsettias for volunteering as well as a coupon for Macy's. I wish it was a JC Penny coupon, since that's where my mom works, but oh well. It's still good. I get to go see my mom tomorrow, and I'm excited. I am looking forward to spending Christmas at my mom's place. I just have to take the 9 hour train ride to get there. I'm not looking forward to the train ride, but it's worth it to see my mom. I'm going to be there for a week, from tomorrow until next Wednesday. Then I'm home in time for New Year's Eve. I wanted to spend New Years Eve with Geo instead of my mom, since I'm already spending Christmas with my mom and not Geo. He will be with his own family since we can't afford to send both of us up there on the train. My mom is paying for my tickets, anyway, and she doesn't have a lot of money either. I just have a one way ticket, and when she gets paid again I will get my return ticket.
I'm kinda getting used to the schedule for the Amtrak since I've ridden the train so many times. I have a rewards card for it and everything. I'm hopefully going to have enough points soon for a free trip. You only have to earn 1,000 points for that, and I know I'm close. Hopefully with my return trip I will have enough points to go see my mom for free when I want to. I hope that she doesn't get sick or have another stroke, but if she does I would have enough points to go see her for a bit. She might be moving back to LA soon, she's just waiting to see about getting a transfer for her job. It would suck to have to go to another city and not have a job. She can get a job at any JC Penny's that she wants to if they have an open space that she qualifies for.
I opened my Christmas present from Geo today. He got me exactly what I wanted- a nice looking watch with a digital readout. I don't know where he found it, but I had been looking for a while and couldn't find one. I guess he's the king of Google. I'm very happy with my gift. I was thinking that I was just going to have to settle with an analog readout on a nice watch, but he went above and beyond with this. I don't want to know how much it cost him. All I know is that now I have a beautiful watch that's exactly what I wanted. I'm glad that he was able to find it. It made me really happy. My mom is getting me socks for Christmas, but I really need socks. I only have a couple pairs, and so I have to do laundry all the time just for clean socks. I try to wear heels to work as well, since you don't wear socks with heels. I wore a pair today for the party, and my feet were hurting by the end of the day. Oh well, I guess my feet just need to break them in.
At work today they were very happy with me. I finished all the work they had for me and the boss let me leave early so I could go home and pack. I think they underestimate what I am able to do. I was doing a bunch of things- stamping letters, folding mail into the envelopes, scheduling appointments, and other random tasks. I'm just doing whatever they wanted me to do. I wore my pretty green shirt for the party, but I forgot to bring my ID and my volunteer jacket. I was worried that the CEO was going to notice I didn't have a name tag on, but he didn't say anything. I'm glad. The last thing I want to do is get the CEO angry at me for something small like that. I also got a lamp from a woman at work, Maria, who is super nice. I'm going to put it behind the couch, so when I get on the computer on the couch I have some light behind me.
Food I pretty much covered above. I slept pretty good last night, only woke up a couple times. I don't know what time Geo went to bed or woke up, but I let him take a nap when I got home. He's been so low on sleep that he needs as much time as he can get. Stress was kinda high when I was at work without my badge and I was anxious that someone was going to catch me and that I would get in trouble, but I didn't. Mood today was good, I had fun at the party and had some good sleep, so what else can a girl ask for?
