Christmas Parade
Lately my anxiety has been in check. I do have times where it is bad, but I am having longer periods of "normalcy" which I hesitate to even write because I am afraid of jinxing myself.
I have mentioned before that a lot of my anxiety centers around my health. I feel anything in my chest (I have asthma and indigestion frequently) and I become convinced I am, having a heart attack. It prevents me from taking my kids out, or going for walks without someone with me. But I am very pleased to say that I have been walking everyday this week. Not much, just a mile, but it's a start, and I am pleased about it.
On Friday night our town had a tree lighting ceremony. I took the kids and while it was a disaster, it was not because of my anxiety (cold, small children, LOTS of people, Santa).
Tonight I will be walking with my 6 year old's Daisy Scout troop in our town's Christmas Parade. I won't lie, I am afraid. It's only about a mile walk, and we are fairly early in line, but I am terrified my asthma will act up and I will spend the whole time worrying. I need to do this, not just for my little girl, but for me too, but I am filled with anxiety about it. I have tried to reason it out, I mean it's a parade, it is going to be a slow walk, but I am still stressing about it.
I hope that I can do it. I hope that I can do it with a smile on my face and a huge sense of accomplishment at the end.
