christmas parade//christmas house tours//walk through bethlehem//pioneer historical village
went to the Christmas parade and stayed for half of it. went to the tour of homes for christmas. the oldest ones were the best ones, the rest one could do on an open house and the only difference is Christmas trees in each room. very different than the mansion tours in Newport, rhode island, though those are exhausting and the charge is per house, not $22 for a dozen for the day. then they had festivities in another historical building with punch and cookies and raffles. Went on the tour of Bethlehem which is put out by crossroads church nationwide, and its free. this year it was three blocks instead of two and the script was different, but similar. they also have the same thing in Orlando, for $25 and its supposed to be the town of Bethlehem and you wander around. there are tree festivals and a drive through at another church and a train that goes through a hotel here that does the entire grounds up, haven't done those next.
this taking off two weeks before the holidays instead of the two weeks of the holidays is working out well so far. we have had great weather. around 83 degrees 3 of the days but still a little chilly for swimming. nice to be in timeshare though the sauna at our own is nicer than this one. went to pioneer village as well. its okay. those things are fun, but I wish they had more historical info on plaques outside the buildings because I don't know what a lot of it is. a "cooper" makes wooden wheels and barrels - don't remember ever knowing that. the graduating class for their former high school has twenty students. the post office at best holds ten people at a time. things were really different back then. lol. and people survived and it all got done. wow! the village reminds me of the waltons, the real town that show is based on can actually be toured up in Virginia somewhere.
hoping to take a nap before heading back. dogs are with rn, she is cleaning up with pet sitting if everyone pays as they should. after mine she is picking up at another house for a week. the Chihuahua that just got fixed is doing well. it didn't eat for 3 days she said and wanted a lot of lap time, but other than that she is okay. now if a can pick them up before Christmas that would be great, i think rn is going to miss them though. I know she has her eye on the male who follows her everywhere, and he has gained a lot of weight since he got there. the greyhounds keep sitting on byn's lap so I guess they are content there. still haven't heard from bobp about the gates and it didn't occur to me until now that he could be gone, sick, dead or someone in his household could be as he never ignores calls and is generally very responsible. so many people die after age 40, or even after 50 if the person is very lucky, that you never know what to think with people. I don't even bother getting annoyed anymore because I know it can be something really bad and then I rather not know unless I have to know.
