Christmas Joy
Have made fudge, making butter tarts and peanut butter chocolate cookies today. Getting out all the equipment, making the filling and the cookie dough brings such a tide of emotions. You always, always helped honey. You loved doing it. You kept the dishes cleaned up as I baked. You were such a huge help and such a huge inspiration. I miss you so very, very much.
I am keeping it together (most of the time) during this time of family and renewal of our beliefs and spirit. I think how disappointed you would be if I (in affect) canceled Christmas. (I have had moments of thinking that might me a could idea)
Going over to Ray and Shel's for Christmas eve, staying all night and probably the next night too. I know you will be with us. I see your smiling face constantly, and it will be particularly bright on Christmas morning . . . I know!
You brought us all such joy and left us with such warm memories. I only wish I had had the chance to tell you how much I loved you before you left us. It was so sudden. I know you know that, but I will tell you again now . . . I love you more than you could know, and thank you for you! No one could ever be what you were to me, ever. You were the most patient, loving, kind, and generous person I have ever known. Everyone who knew you still talk about your amazing kindness and gift of making everyone comfortable in any situation.
Do you remember the day Rev. Barb said to me, "I hope you appreciate that man he is one of a kind?" I told her you bet I do! I told you about it after the fact and you got embarrassed. You didn't know what you meant to me, the family and all your friends. I think that is true of all the good souls here on earth.
Merry Christmas honey!

Lindanne,
I love this journal post. It makes me so happy to read of loving couples who \"get it\". Who understand how precious a spouse is. It sounds to me like you knew love and appreciated this man beyond words. What a wonderful gift you gave your husband. And you know what? I think he knew and felt the same way about you.
Blessings,
Linda
Thank You Linda. It is a very special thing to have had such a bond. I wish all people understood how wonderful and beautiful a gift it is.
Lindanne,
Good for you in deciding to go on with the celebration of Christmas. I expect it will be difficult for all of us here on DS, but it will also honor our Lord, and the memory of our loved ones. It is gratifying to hear of such abiding love in a marriage. You have no need to worry about whether he knew you loved him or not. It shows loud and clear in your journal posting. He loved you and knew you loved him; he valued the time he could spend with you, even if it was doing dishes. In this world of 60% marriage failure, you are to be congratulated on having a lasting beautiful union. It is a great testimory to what marriage is all about. My very best wishes to you.

Lindanne,
Your journal entry was wonderful. Even as we mourn our loved ones we are aware that we were blessed to share a bond of love that few will ever know in their own lives. A love that continues on forever beyond death.
All the treats you are fixing sound so good. Trade you some truffles for some tarts!!!! Have a good holiday season filled with friends and family and sweet memories of your beloved.
Hugs, Dianne
Thegoodcook said it best. And I know he knew how much you love him; and continue to love him still.
Food bring out so much emotion, doesn\'t it? I had a melt down the other day, thinking how much David would have loved my christmas cookies, straight from the oven. No, I did not make any, I was just looking at the cookie cutters and could not bring myself to bake that day.
Sending you love and hugs. One step at a time.
I don\'t know if you know what help all of you are to me. I sit by myself, crying, and thinking as we all do. I go to my computer and read your comments about my journal, my pictures and I cry more. But these cry\'s are those of \"thank you\" you are such a support and even though I can\'t be with you (which I so wish we could all be together) I feel your love and support. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH.

i am so happy to know you have plans for Christmas and that you are baking away and keeping up traditions.
i loved the last line. i do believe that the best people never know that about themselves, maybe that is what makes them so amazing.
i hope you find joy in all that comes your way on Christmas
hugs
