Christmas fat pictures

Well, I had the annual family Christmas fat pictures again.  The last 7 years I say to myself that this year will be the last year I will be the fat person in the picture.  Next year will be different.  Here I am again, looking at a fat person in the pictures.  It makes me feel like such a failure.  My family is wonderfully thin.  I am so very thankful that they are all healthy eaters.  I am grateful that I have raised my kids with healthy eating habits, but I want to join them!!!  I have to conquer this!  I am tired of being the fat mom!!!!I want to be happy to take pictures with my beautiful children and handsome husband.  I have an amazing family and I want to enjoy this part of the holidays!!

Perhaps the take home concerning these feelings about pictures is that first, loving yourself is what will help make changes in healthy habits that will stay with you. You have supportive friends on DS. You can make changes that will have you feeling more proud of yourself every day.

Be proud that you are declaring war on any bad habits. I\'m happy for you. You\'re recognizing the changes you want to see. Love yourself for seeing the changes you want and start building a plan. I\'m sure that in creating healthy plans for the future, you will take pride in having that plan and being accountable.

You can do this!! One step at a time. That\'s part of the enjoyment, in the knowing that we learn as we go. We create new habits all the time. Don\'t dwell on where you have been (fat pictures), dwell on your goals and make them attainable, a step at a time. (That\'s what I\'m doing---you\'re not alone here.)

Thank you so much for taking the time to encourage me. I do feel very overwhelmed and alone but I don\'t want to complain all the time so I release it in my journal. I can\'t seem to love myself at the weight I am currently at, but you are right, I need to start there. I will work on that. It is nice to know that I am not alone. Thank you.
