Christmas Eve Surprise
Our area got a Christmas Eve surprise,,,,,SNOW! Snow in central Texas. It started about noon and high winds blew it horizontal to the ground. It was so heavy, it sometimes whited out the view of the road a hundred yards from the building where I work. About five in the afternoon, it looked like it might be trouble getting home at nine. But, the temperature never got below 30 and we had had temperatures in the 70's the day before so it didn't stick on the roadways.I can't remember ever having snow on Christmas Eve. So much for a white Christmas. We've got sunshine today, but it's still cold and we can expect a high in the 40s. Well, it's Christmas day and Foxy and I will spend it together. Vickie invited me for Christmasd dinner, but with my hands getting worse, I'd have had to wear latex gloves and I really didn't want Vickie's family to see me that way. Although my left foot is healed, my knee is sore from walking wrong while it got well and I walk with a limp and have trouble getting out of chairs and that wouldn't be good either. On the bright side, Foxy got a fox for Christmas. I found a plush toy without the stuffing in a catalog and got it for her. It has sqeakers at each end and looks like a fox. She seems to like it. Dressing's in the oven and I'm going to relax today. Not too bad for a guy who was out of work last Christmas.
