Christmas etc.

Hi everyone.
I hope everyone's Christmas and Hanukka was peaceful and enjoyable. Mine was good, overall. Christmas eve we went to a lovely service at our little Methodist Church, then went to my adopted daughter's house. We exchanged gifts with Donna, Derek & their sons, Walter & Kyle and had some snacks. Donna & Derek got me a digital camera for Christmas so I have now plunged headlong into the technology of the 90's, lol. I love it!
On Christmas, my granddaughter, her baby Iysabella, my former daughter in law, Elaine & her young children came by for brunch and we exchanged gifts. Elaine gave me my favorite Paul Mitchell Hair Products & we enjoyed seeing the kids (Christina included, lol) open their gifts. Then Christina, Ken & I went to the cemetery, brought flowers, cards & a pointsettia to decorate Ed' stone, as well as some beautiful red roses and carnations that a dear friend sent me. I feel a bit better when Ed's stone is graced with beautiful things. We then had our meltdown at the cemetery. Its ok, we knew the meltdown would arrive sooner or later. My grandson Josh came over on Monday since he was going to his fiancee's family on Sunday & we had brunch # 2 & exchanged gifts with them. Josh & Chelsea gave Ken & I a beautiful snow globe with Natalie's (their 2 week old baby) picture in it! I love it. His new baby is so precious so of course I held her & wouldn't share her the entire visit. I am baby greedy!
Chelsea in England sent me a beautiful card and some very thoughtful gifts and some pictures of her handsome Edward. :)
Then Monday night I came down with an intestional flu! Yikes, I was sick. Tuesday I dragged myself out of bed to go with Ken to his neuro appt. Fairly good news. The results of the contrast MRI confirm that Ken does have a benign tumor, but only one (they ruled out more lesions) & he sees the neurosurgeon tomorrow. He is going himself - I have to go to work since I was out sick today too. I will journal after he sees the surgeon. The neuro gave him a new med, Topomax & the pain has lessened a bit already! Yay! So that's good. Thank you for your concern and prayers. It helps, believe me!
I am better today, just a bit weak & the awful symptoms have subsided.
The season has been gentler. I do miss Ed constantly but the waves are gentler...
If you are new to this journey I can tell you the holidays are painful but for me, after 2 years, it is easier and the good feelings last longer and the painful ones subside quicker, mercifully...This will happen for you too!
In the new year just know you are not alone on this walk and this journey towards healing....
Love and peace to all, Linda

Nothing heals like baby flesh, squeezed into the body. It always puts me right at ease. All nervousness is gone, such a relaxing gesture. I still hope to have more babies in the family, the only thing that makes death palatable.

So sorry about that flu bug and glad you are feeling better. :)

I was wondering about Ken\'s appointment so thank you for filling us in. Prayers continued dear Linda for each of you. He is being cared for in the best possible way and questions are being answered and a plan is in place. All of this relieves some of the anxiety of that I am certain and I cannot imagine his gratitude that you walk with him during this time as he is with you. Nothing like being able to share these life circumstances with our loved ones.

Love it that you are baby greedy as you should be! Feels as if the days unfolded as they needed to and your journal offers so much hope. In gratitude to you always dear Linda and to your darling Ed.

Love and continued healing in abundance.

Linda....would you believe it? I gave MY Natalie two snow globes....to add to her growing collection...she loves them. I know in time your little Natalie will love hers. I am glad you had this time with your family and grandchildren.

Yes, we can cope better after the years pass....I have had a very sad time in the night...by myself....so no one can see me....it has been a step backwards when all I can think of is what if God had stepped in and saved my Brandon.....then it all goes downhill from there. I have asked God to renew my heart and mind....again...something that I have to keep praying for...it never helps that my birthday is sandwiched between these other holidays....I have learned to hate it. I can hear Brandon calling me and wishing me a Happy Birthday like he always did....

You are just like me about babies....I don\'t give them up very easily once I have them in my arms....although, I don\'t know anyone with a baby around here....there are no more to be had for now...not until the grandchildren .....and let\'s hope that will be a while.....I am glad you got a new camera....I bet we will see some pretty pictures all over the place now....especially of the girls.....and am so glad that the news is not as bad as you thought about Ken. I pray for God\'s continued good hand upon Ken while he heals. Love to you and Ed....dale, brandon\'s mom

Sounds like a wonderful Christmas holiday overall, and I am happy that this year has been a bit gentler than past years. I love how you said you were \"baby greedy.\" I can\'t understand how anyone can\'t be...since they are just so darn plump and soft and pure!.. like I say frequently \"Fresh from Heaven!\" You and Ken have another potential \"Beep Beeper! to gladden your days--you are lucky!

I\'m glad Ken\'s getting some relief from the new med and that the diagnosis is getting firmed up...thank goodness only the one tumor, too. Pretty soon this nightmare will be over for you both and sound health will be the mainstay of the New Year!
Continue to get well Linda and I hope it\'s soon! You\'re all in my prayers.
Love+Hugs, Donna
