Christmas after four years

Christmas is just two days away and I am in the cycle of the kids being with my ex for the holiday. This is a sad time and memories of the Christmas with the kids are missed. I now look at my life as a time of making new memories for myself even if it is difficult for me. The change requires that I be purposeful in making plans to be out and about and with friends. The circle of friends has become more of a family for me this year than in the past. I made plans for a soup supper last evening just to make it something I do that is new for me as a single woman.
My goals for the year will need to improve in my getting out and about and involved more through church groups or other outlets. I am struggling to find outlets that involve things I enjoy. My long work days make evenings hard to do things but I do have weekends and need to be intentional.
My ex always told me I was too easily satisfied to stay home and not have something going on. I am a home body and there is really nothing wrong with that concept but I do see where I will need more involvement to be able to keep on a positive healing path. I think too much when I spend too many days alone. Involvement at work is one thing but it can't keep the emotions for love positive for me on a day to day basis. I work in the healing arts and I enjoy helping others. I just contemplating how to help myself now.
The past three years have been my proving ground of my strength and the building of my faith. I really do like the depth of strength I have found in myself so i will keep working.

This is all good stuff! You really do have to make the effort to get out there and get involved with new people and cultivate new interests. Sounds to me like you are doing all the right things and I am soooo proud of you! xoxox
