Chew Chew
Eviction day is next week for YS and his family. His children have been in protective custody since October, so the event shouldn't be too traumatic for them. I think. . . I hope. . . I pray. . .
He texted last night that he needed help with packing and moving the stuff into a storage unit. My skin instantly began to crawl with the thoughts of moving all those hoard piles --AGAIN-- while navigating the two year accumulated neglect of dirty diapers, ground in food remnants and? ? ? Sometimes it's better to study ignorance. The flashbacks to the other 4 times I have helped YS and his wife move quickly daisy-chained to the uncounted times of helping both of my sons clean up and/or move the bachelor renditions of this house-keeping style. Last night's sleep was restless with heebeegeebee dreams. My skin is still crawling with imaginary bugs. Natural disaster analogies fall short on the logic. Katrina didn't take two years to do her damage. Hoarding trash is ? ? ? Explain it to me, please. Simple enough that a Toxic Mom can understand it. Never mind. . .
The text did not invite a "yes or no" response. My response is, "No." but I have been kicking it around with Hubs since then instead of answering. Part of the request was for Hubby's truck, so that felt like a natural evolution, regardless. I don't believe he's had the pleasure of helping one of his sons move, but he has his own clues to sort.
Is it admirable that YS gave us a few days notice?
Stepping small, praying big and holding the love sacred.
Sidebar: My cell phone's predictive text always puts "Scared" in front of "Sacred." Yet another pause to wonder if my dumb phone really is smarter than I am.

Maybe letting him 'stew in his own juice' is what he needs Arf??….. Stating that your response is no might be a good thing..... Constantly having to rescue someone gets tiring and I don't know that it really helps them
I hope while you're chewing you figure out what the best response for you is sweetie..... Big hug......x
This morning finds me with flashbacks to a body of babble I carried away from a Catholic volunteer training workshop was entitled, "Staying out of God's way." The base premise for this chapter of the workshop is how easy it is to let our desire to be helpful interfere with the lessons God is trying to teach His children. The workshop was specifically Catholic, but that chapter sure did mesh well with my Alanon work.
Feeling like it applies here. . .
Still sorting. . .
I was thinking more of Al anon …. I think sometimes people need to experience consequences and feel them in order to want to change.... Thus they don't want to live like this anymore
I know it has to be hard being a mom..... There's help for hoarding if they'll reach out for it..... Big hug while you're sorting sweetie.....xo
