chest cold

i picked up a cold last week and have been having an awful time. my chest is full, but at least its moving, it seems to have climbed up into my head last night. Had a terrible morning, nausea and dizziness and weakness, terrible headache and really short of breath.
I slept on and off all day and i feel a bit better. the dog was in heaven...lol everything I made to eat, I couldnt so she got lots of treats today.
I havent had a fever so I am pretty sure this is just a cold. but it is still scary that it always seems to land in my chest now. I never got chest colds before, I always got head colds, but i guess because my lungs are my week point that is where everything is going to end up. My 02 levels seem to be okay.

My son had surgery on his knee today, he came through okay, he has a long recovery ahead. He wont be back to work until march....so lots of physio. I wish i could go back out and help take care of him, but it is not really in the cards, I have the time but they dont really have the room for me to stay for any length of time. But he is a grown up now ( always be my baby) I am sure they will manage okay and I can always go out if they do need me.

we didnt get to the alternative health show because of this stupid cold. i was really looking forward to it. we are going to toronto on sun and mon for a conference for Hubby's work. Ill get to see our daughter again and maybe go to a gallery show or something and have a nice fancy dinner with hubby after the conference.

I have coughing a bit too...this the type of thing that never concerned me very much before..... a coild was a cold....a temporary nuisence. Now...one has to wonder how severe it might become.
So take care of yourself and see your doctor if you think its gettingt worse............

Sorry to hear that you didn\'t make it to the health expo. But your health comes first. Rest and drink plenty of fluids. Thinking of you.

brunob,
what kind of knee operation did your son have? I had a complete hip replacement operation along with an above knee leg amputation about 25 years ago and a complete shoulder joint replacement in May. Pretty soon they will be calling me the bionic man. The shoulder operation is what keeps me going without pain and I swear by both as they have made my life so much easier.

Remember, a cold is a cold, is a cold... Be as strong as possible and you should feel better soon. One of my favorite sayings that for some reason makes be feel better is to tell myself \"this too shall pass!\" Probably doesn\'t help; but, if I can fool myself a little, it seems better and gets better faster. :

My son had an ACL repair on his knee.

The cold seems to be lessening and everything is still moving out of my chest so I don\'t think I have to worry too much about that.

Thank you for all the good wishes, always helps to make you feel better

I\'m late chiming in. Hope you are feeling much better by now. Such a pisser to have something most people just blow off to make you worry so much about your well being. Again, hope it is gone and you are breathing easier (literally)

Catching up on journals. I\'m wondering where your newer entries are??? You don\'t usually have that much time between. Looking forward to hearing from you.
