Checkmate
Checkmate! I lose to a game that I am not skilled at. It takes so much skill to think of the next move. I play the pawns one by one and lose them all. I find my knight is not shinning and is taken hostage. I protect my royal family arranging my pieces carefully. But I am exposed to the truth that I am not good at this game. I pretend I know what I am doing. I pretend that I am not scared and vulnerable to the feeling of defeat. Checkmate! Do I play again, or do I give up? My odds are that I will give up and never learn to become better; A better player, a winner.

I don\'t have anyone to play with and have always wanted to learn Chess. I played 30 years ago a bit but I would really enjoy someone to play it with. There often is no point to facing this alone in such circumstances but I suppose we take what life there is and make the best of it for now.

I know that feeling...
I have given up asking for help.
Sometimes the odds seem stacked against us, and when trust has been abused, it just feels better to try and cope alone...at least until we feel able to ask for help, although I still haven\'t been able to ask. I\'m not sure that I ever will. I don\'t think it\'s about winning or losing...it\'s more about coping with what life throws at us. Sometimes we have to withdraw from a losing battle to regain strength, thus giving us future opportunity to win the war. Self preservation can make you do funny things. It\'s hard to go against those boundaries. Why put ourselves in the firing line, if there is an alternative.
In an ideal world win/win situations would be easy to find...but when they are not, we just have to cope whatever ways we can...and if that means withdrawing from things for a while, so be it. It is a coping method rather than a solution.
Practice makes perfect! My Muay Thai instructor has me doing drills of 200 for every single strike I have learned each & every class. One of his favorite things to say is \"After you do that 2000 more times, it will be perfect\".
Pawns & knights are expendable when it comes to protecting the King & Queen. The King cannot win without the Queen\'s power and mobility to move anywhere on the board, but the Queen cannot win when the King cannot move a single square out of harm\'s way. You are very wise to protect your royal family. Take one day at a time, but keep playing the game, my dear friend because \"A dragon\'s touch set a horse on fire.\"

Still exisiting on hope, faith, & love,
Your friend,

Sometimes our playmates are idiots. Hate to be judgemental but they are not our equals. You picked them. You must have wanted to learn these experiences.
Sometimes that is something you can work through. Other times you cut your losses and seek peace. This is YOUR life and your choice of what to experience. For starters, if you are keeping the same playmate try to hold onto you light and peace in every situtation not matter what. You always have some choice in your reaction. Cut the drama and chose peace always.
Hang in there this is only a life test. It never lasts. This too shall pass.
