Checkin in
Hello SOTH's - just checkin in this Tuesday eve. We have 20 more days of school - last day of school for kids is 6/8 and my last day will be 6/10...I return to work 8/2....so looking forward to the time off.
I spent Mother's Day with Hunter. We went to the movies (Captain America - Civil War) and went to lunch. It was so great to spend the day with him. We talked about his mom, laughed and the time spent with him warmed my soul. I said sometimes, Mothers Day is hard for me - he said (15 y/o) - make it a "me" day...go to the spa, go shopping or spend it with me....awww brought a tear to my eye...love that kid.
Time sems to pass so quickly - I was looking at pension/ social security, etc and what age would be best to retire with the most benefit....Looks like at least 3 more years...kind of crazy how you can work your whole life and the social security doesn't seem that much....anyway....things can change but right now I'll be working next year. I can't believe I'm even looking at that - denial is a happy place :)

I just love Hunter\'s idea to change Mother\'s day into a \"me\"day! What an intelligent boy!! Yes, retiring after many years of working, should be like receiving your reward, but instead one ends up battling to survive. It is such an anti-climax! At least for now you have a well deserved rest to look foreward to in 20 days!! Take good care of yourself, Vicki! xxx

I can retire in about 3 years as well..it is so crazy to know I could actually do that!

I hope you enjoy your time off and get some extra time with Hunter this summer during this more leisurely time. He sounds like so much fun to be around. I am enjoying retirement but resent that my body retired me much too young and to think food was the enemy. Sigh. Oh well, so grateful to feel good! Sending love right back to you, sweet friend, Leda
What a wonderful way to spend Mothers Day! Hunter sounds like one cool kid! I have been retired for a few years now. The pensions don\'t go very far - and every year they seem to shrink. It is ironic that when we have time, there is never enough money!

Your day sounded just like what you both needed. What a joy I know it is to spend time with Hunter as he\'s as close as it gets to BEing with your Jennifer and must bring into your heart so much about your dear daughter and of course just hanging with him. :)
Always wise to gather as much info as you can regarding retirement and it is a blessing to have a pension these days as so many do not. I know you will make a wise decision and then when you are retired you\'ll wonder how you ever worked and got everything done. LOL! The days fly! :)

I am glad Hunter was with you on Mothers day is sounds like you guys had fun, that what it is all about enjoying family. When I first became a Grandmother, someone told me the grand kids are yours as well as their Moms, so run with that thought.
