Cheating & Deceit and Sophisticated Secret Sex Trysts

I always wanted to have an emotional attachment first before having sex. I needed to feel I wouldn't be judged harshly nor waved goodbye to with indif-ference. And as if to insure this attachment, I would do nothing like asking some good woman out or into bed immediately, on the first day or date. I would wait.
Brenda, on the other hand, would. About this topic in conversation she might tell you, "Oh no! One night stands no never" To your face she will say "of course not, no, never," but she would have and did. She would have one-night stands; I don't know how many. I've never asked and she'd never have answered. She's taught me secrecy. She calls it, I think, discretion and consideration.
She is the one who said, "If I had sex with someone else, I'd not let my boyfriend or husband know. It would hurt hiim." She said this our first month together as boyfriend and girlfriend. There's where you learn the other's secrets, in those first days together; after that, never; you will have to work at it, even go digging.

Much the best time to learn about disasters public and private is during the first hours or day of their occurrence when the authorities haven't yet cordoned off an area, controlled the news outlets, and covered up the truth. So people meeting people want to make themselves sound as interesting as possible and may tell, if not all, at least something that involves their hidden nature and secrets.
Years have passed. She was wise. But the facts have come out little by little most because she has grown indiscreet and garrulous...
The first time I encountered "straying and deceit and hurtful flirting," I was in the 8th grade.
The first time I was cheated on was in the 12th grade, and it hurt, and the girl lied and deceived me, too.
The first time it was kept secret so well and repetitively, too, was in college. That level of sophistication in lying and cheating astounds me to this day: I am astounded, not by my beloved but by myself and my innocence. I was so credulous, faithful, loving, and devoted I didn't believe 2 + 2 was 4. Plus, she loved me to pieces, too, and was proving that, but cheated nonetheless.
It took me years of recollection to understand what had really happened. I was really slow in arithmetic. I couldn't get 2+2 to equal 4 for a long time.
I could go on, but you see, I was a faithful sort of man. I regret being so. I had many many opportunities and am attractive to many women. How stupid was I?
