Chariots of Fire
OK, maybe not as dramatic as the title suggests, but I did lace up the running shoes and hit the road this morning. My youngest son is going out for cross country and needs to be putting in some miles before school starts. I have not run since April 4th due to a foot injury, and I have not felt like trying since Melissa died on April 25th. After 4 months, my heel is still not any better, so I made a decision last night to run/jog a short distance this morning with Miles. I charged up my Garmin GPS watch and heart monitor (Wonderful tool, by the way. Thanks Melissa for this birthday gift last year!) and set the alarm. We went 1.5 miles at a faily easy pace. Miles was struggling a little, but we got the run in. My heel felt OK, but we will see how it does through the rest of the day. I have a feeling that Ibuprofin will be my friend!
I've got to give a shout out to CJ! Her training for her upcoming half and full marathons have motivated me. Thanks!
