Chapter 1. In the Beginning.
I wish i could feel normal again, like when i was 12, before i met the monster. He messed up my life. I met the monster when i was 13 at school, he gave me a note with a anonymous phone number on it and asked me if i was single. I responded to him, "Yes i am single i have never had a boy friend before." and took the note and continued walking to my bus, I was in the 7th grade at the time and it was really weird for me to get a note from a boy seeing that no boys at the time liked me ( and im still having problems with that until this day). When i got home from school i was actually pretty excited at the fact that a boy actually liked me. I thought to myself, "Wow i feel special, someone cares about me." For once in my life i actually felt accepted by someone. Other than my mom. I showed my mom the note, and she asked "who is it from?" and i responded, "i don't know, some boy gave it to me". My mom just stood there and said, "okay, well how come he didnt leave a name". I responded, "i dont know , mom".The whole night after that i was thinking about who it could have been that gave me their beeper number to beep them and talk to them. But some where in the back of my mind i knew it was him. I have a feeling that it was him. And i had that whole weekend to think about who it was from, because he had given me the note on a Friday, typical day for these types of things, because you tend to think about it the whole weekend and nothing else can cross your mind, because its the fact that you're so happy that someone actually cares enough to write you a note.I woke up on Monday nervous to go to school because i was so anxious about who wrote me that note. Even though in the back of my mind i knew it was him the monster. So i got on my bus wondering all the way to school which took about 20 minuets seeing i didn't live that far from school who it was. As soon as i got to school i got off the bus, and went to the cafeteria where everyone eats there breakfast. I don't remember exactly what we had for breakfast because that was like, about 7 years ago. All i can remember is that was the day that the monster revealed that he had had a crush on me, and had wanted to get my phone number so that maybe we could talk sometime. So i gave him my 7 digits, and i cant remember if we talked that day, because again this was 7 years ago, but im pretty sure we did, he was an okay guy i liked him alittle bit, but i wasnt so sure about how i would feel in the long run. When i got home from school. I was sitting in the living room watching T.V. and the phone rang. My mom answered because she always did. And i remember her saying, "Leah, you have a phone call." I picked up the phone on the other end, and it was him the monster. I remember bits and peices of the conversation we had, like i remember him talking about roller coasters and saying something funny like how he almost fell out of one just to get me laughing, and to my surprise i actually did laugh, because i found it hilarious. We talked on the phone for the first time for like 5 hours, because we were trying to get to know each other. And i thought to myself. "Hmm maybe hes not that bad after all." and i kind of started to like him.We talked a lot during the school day and he stuff and he called me everyday during the week. The weekend came, it was a saturday, and the phone rang early around 9:30, and the funny thing is i heard it in my dream and i knew it was him calling me. My mom came in my room and handed me the phone and said " Leah its him". I responded, "Okay"I got on the phone he asked me how i was doing and i told him that i had just gotten up. He asked me if i wanted to go to the skating rink with him because he was going to go there with his mom and i said okay i want to go. So i got up and got dressed. I cant even began to describe how nervous i was. I remember exactly everything i was wearing. I was wearing , i t-shirt that said, 100% angel on it and it had a cat on it, with a pair of overalls( at the time i was 13 keep in mind) and underneath that i had my baithing suit on because he told me to wear it because after going skating, we were going to go to the river. When he got to my house i was so nervous like to the point that i didnt even want to come to the door, so as always my mom had to go get it. She told him that i would be right there. I tried to fix myself so i didnt act so awkward its just i was so nervous it was my first date i had ever been on in my entire life. and i was only 13.Well, are date didnt exactly go the way it planed, because when his mom was driving, she developed a flat tire whcih lead us to stand on the side of the road until we could find a person to ask to use their phone. It was funny because it was raining outside and we were all getting soak and wet and stuff. Finally the tow truck came because we were able to use someones cell phone. and me and him stayed in the van, it was funny because they had the van on the top of the tow truck, and we were basically riding on top of the tow truck but in a van. It was a strange expericence. But interesting. In then after that we had to weight at like this tire place so that his mom could put a new tire on the van. We waited there for like 2 hours. It was boring but me and him had the chance to talk again, so it was all good. After that we went to the river in Hog Valley, where they would go every weekend. He would like swing off of this rope into the water, and he was pretty good at what he did i must say. He was an expert at it. I tried to do it but i chickened out and got scared because. 1.) im scared of heights, 2.) i didnt know what was in that water, and 3.) it was you know. The -Time - Of -The -Month time for me. We stayed at the river for about an hour or two, and then his mom took me home. When we got back to my house, me and him played Hide-and-Seek. A little childish i know, but we were still in middle school. So it was completely acceptable im guessing. Me and him ended that day with a simple hand shake. I felt it to awkward to hug him ( sense i had never really hugged a boy before).
