CHAOS
You would think they were calling for 6 feet of snow! Or the end of the world! What else could drive people so crazy??? Although it was just full moon too (I think).
I work in a grocery store. We just had a week of big time ad items to drive em in for our 50th Anniversary and had a great week in sales. Little did I know that all hell would break loose again today. We got extremely busy. Turns out that Walmart was hit and they had NO toilet paper or sanitizer left. So their regulars came over to us and did do more shopping. I have to say I do love when they don't know how to order (or they get wiped out)-- sends em all our way. lol
I was told we have to use packs of wipes at the entrance (since people stole the canisters that you pull them from in the holders out front. Also when we do the floor walk every hour and a half we do check to see if the restrooms need toilet paper . There are shelves up above where we always left another roll or two for when the holders ran out. Now we are no longer allowed to do that because they are stealing every last roll we put up top. (We would keep a 6 pk up in each bathroom -- but they take every last one.) Someone said you cannot buy aloe gel because they are using that and alcohol to make homemade sanitizer.
There are cases of the virus in PA now in a few counties, but ours is not one of them. (yet ) May you all stay safe and far away from this damn thing.

People have lost their minds with this coronavirus.
You are right about that.
The same thing is happening around here, makes no sense to me to horde these things.
All the publicly funded schools in Ontario are closing for the next 3 weeks. Extended March Break for me :-)
Stay healthy everyone
Hugs
I am always well stocked up, especially during the winter months when I might not be able to get out. But this is ridiculous. I think the media better tone down their doom and gloom. Lots of people die from the cold, flu, pneumonia and other viral infection every year. You do not hear about that. Extended March Break for my daughter. She said wash the hands people.
I love when the stores are sold out of milk and bread for a blizzard and the roads are cleared the next day. There are far more deaths from car accidents in this country than the entire world casualties of corona. Shouldn’t we all stop driving too?
Oh, gun deaths too. Where’s the media on that pandemic? If it’s not a mass shooting it doesn’t count?
fools the tp is not thing that is needed today from this virus.....it does not cause the poops....
There has only been one case of it in Maine and that was of a woman who was in the service and just arrived from another country. Needless to say, she has been quarantined and the names of everyone she has been in contact with have been tested so fingers crossed that it doesn't come 50 miles north to my little town.
God Bless
it's weird about the TP. there is some panic buying here but it seems to have tapered off. I was kind of panicked at first and now I'm just washing my hands a lot and trying not to think too much about it. stay safe.
I'm glad you survived your crazy day. I'm just praying for this country, especially for the handful of people who are sick. I hope all these draconian measures result in stopping the spread. I guess it's better to be safe than sorry, although some of the response seems a little over the top. One good thing: I just heard the President is ordering that we don't get more medical supplies from China. I have heard too many things about contaminated and shoddy goods from China, so I'm glad for this restriction. I refuse to buy anything from there, especially food, if I can possibly avoid it. I pray God's strength and blessing for you in the middle of this at work.
We all were talking at work and many of us did decide we would like to quarantine ourselves for a week or two. lol. Unfortunately, we have to go back and face the craziness every day. The media is doing us no favors. As usual, they waste no time or effort in throwing fuel on the fire to fan those flames. To them is a story-- To all of us it becomes a very big fear that we now have in the forefront of our minds.
We now have a travel ban to Europe (with the exception of the UK) And I do hope that China us surely include in that.
I’m waiting to go grocery shopping until Saturday morning at 6:00am. Should be pretty smooth. Hugs Kim.
Thanks for those hugs lb. (You are right. If you go early you should be good. Just hope you have a night shift to restock for you. )
PS. Don't forget the TP! Haha.
Hugs back. :)
The Impact to the economy and to so many businesses and people’s livelihoods is the scariest part of this whole thing.
Rmb you are right. It is stopping things dead in their tracks.
It's ironic, bit I have been buried with orders. It might be because people don't need to leave their homes when they buy from me....just wait for the mailman :)
