About texture packs:
The Texture packs have come out to be one of the most innovative tools for adding creativity and vibrancy for graphics. They are a mixed compilation of files which help in changing the textures of Graphic User Interface (GUI), mobs, blocks, items, etc…

Minecraft’s creations:
The minecraft texture packs have indeed proved to be very useful for the graphic designers and animators. The resolution is measured in pixels considering height and width as main measurements. Minecraft Texture packs have been launched in HD format in the measurements of 16 x 16, 32 x 32, 64 x 64, 128 x 128, 256 x 256 and 512 x 512. These packs were launched by Minecraft in the name of minecraft texture packs but recently they have replaced it by naming as Minecraft resource packs. Minecraft had launched different versions for texture packs naming them as Alpha 1.2.2, 1.5x, 1.6.1 (current one), etc… All the versions had their own set of pros and cons. With the advent of the new versions time to time, Minecraft strived to make it better and useful for the users.  The users have found texture packs indeed very useful.
Types of Texture Packs:
The graphic users and other animating lovers find the minecraft texture packs to be highly interesting as they are available in three different types of resolutions. They are Low Resolution for 8px or below that, Native Resolution for 16px and High Resolution for 32px and above. The latest 1.6.1 version is different from the previous versions in a way that it requires a different format for running.
