Change in meds
I'm afraid this is not going to be good. My last visit to pdoc came with med changes. How strange to not be doing so well but the thought there may be unforeseen changes almost makes you want to just stay put. I had the house torn to pieces having moments with grand ideas and then becoming overwhelmed by it all. This kind of thing led to taking me off Lexapro which my understanding is something that should have been done a while back, as it's said, it can produce mania, but I was surprised they stopped me cold turkey. I thought I remembered reading it was a slow process so of coarse when I got home I became my alter ego, Dr. Google PhD. So I'm a little concerned about what I read and this is day four and I do seem to be experiencing some not so good results. They upgraded my Lithium which I thought may help the other, but so far, not so much. If I were alone it would be one thing but with my dad who's already a hand full, it could get interesting.

A change in meds is always scary, but it can be very rewarding if the combination works well! From my experience with Lexapro it also made me very manic, or sent me into a mixed episode.
Keep an open dialogue with your doctor about your condition, don\'t be shy about your side effects or symptoms. And best o f luck to you!
Med changes can be frustrating, annoying, ugly BUT they also have their positive sides. I was taken of Lexapro because of mania possibilities - taken off of Celexa because of arrhythmia potential problems - taken off of Prozac because it made me manic. UGH! I understand your frustration. I\'m sorry you\'ve got both you and your dad to take care of -- that must be hard. Big hugs -- I hope your med change is a good one!
Thank you Fuusheegii and spacecat for your comments. So far, so good on my med change. At least no ones been hurt so far. (JOKING) I am exsperiencing random crying the starts as abruptly as it starts.I really don\'t mind that so much, but others look at me a little strangely. I\'ve been on a few meds that make me feel like I\'m a robot with no emotions. The upped my Litium as well and said my blood work could support another treak if need be. I have a feeling it will be....need be. Even though I\'m feeling huge amouonts of anger from time to time, so far I\'m not acting out on, thank goodness. I\'m not sure if it\'s from those changes or not, but my sleep , which HAD been very good, is now gone into the crapper even though I\'m still on Mirtasapine, which has been helping with that. She mentioned before any of this, that this was the next med she wanted to change and replace with Desyreal. (please forgive all my spelling errors. Anyhow, Desyreal is some thing I took back in the 80\'s (I believe) when it was a new drug. I thought at the time it was an antidepresrant, but late found out it was not. I can\'t find the word to describe it.....but the best I can do is.... it\'s a hammer to the head. Definately makes you sleep, but I remember it scaring me, because it hits hard and you suddenly feel very out of control as you run for the bed and litterally HIT the pillow. One of the biggest challenges I\'m having right now, .....have had and now getting worse, are ticks. You wouldn\'t believe how many times I\'ve had to back space and correct because my hands seem to have a mind of their own. I\'ve had this for a couple of years in my left hand and now my right hand has became as bad if not worse. Anyway, nuf said. If anyone hears me, thank you for listening.
an example of recent goofy behavior......See if you can guess where I was earlier. ... I got out of the car and opened the little door and unscrewed the little cap. Next I went over to engage the machine and taking the hose in my hand, walked back to the car to insert the hose, but to my amazement the nozzle would not fit. It was then that I realized I was at the car wash to vacuum the car....YEAH! Wack-A-doodle! (and yes, true story)
