Cevyn

The next installment in the Story of Cevyn.
She has moved out of the house.  Beth (step-mother) is mad at her.  Apparently she is not tidy enough for OCD Beth.  I am sure it is more than that.  Cevyn does not want to be anywhere near her right now so she has moved in with her friend.  She said she told her dad she was not going home as she didn't want to see Beth.  He said he was upset that Beth was acting that way.  I believe Beth is jealous of her and wants her out of the picture.  She is also upset that Harvey co-signed the loan Cevyn got for her car.  She is going to meet with her dad tomorrow and stressed that she did not want Beth there.  I feel so sorry for her.  Needless to say Beth would not be safe if I were in the same room with her.
Lisa:  Please get that evil woman out of Cevyn's house!!  I miss you always and love you forever.  Mummy

So very sorry for Cevyn. I know you\'d like to make all this go away for her. Hope her dad will be there for her but from his past behavior you have described, have doubts. Thank goodness she could move in with her friend and she is safe. Talk about an evil stepmother! Ugh

This is sad. Thank goodness that Cevyn is old enough now that she can take control of her own life. Cevyn is lucky to have you to talk to. I know it is hard for you to watch what is happening.

Love you Marlene. Keep us posted.

Thank goodness for friends, I would not be able to live with someone like that. Since Mike left his earthly suite I have not been the best housekeeper nor do I cook like I used to. I do what must be done but no more.

Cevyn sounds like she is independent, which is very important when you are branching out into the world on your own. This lesson in survival will carry her through life. I pray she breaks free of the wicked stepmother, I do understand the importance of the relationship with her father. Send her my love.
Love and hugs to you and Joe

Its too bad her father does not step up and defend Cevyn. It is so hard for most children to have to deal with a step-parent. There are some wonderful step-parents out there, but there are also many, many unkind and unfair ones also. Thank goodness she has you in her life.

Perhaps she will be happier out on her own and with friends that love her and will be there for her. She needs to be sure to maintain a close relationship with her dad so he doesnt drift away from her.

I can only imagine how this is breaking your heart, as you have no control or authority over the situation. Just trust that Cevyn will make good decisions and will be able to have a good life. Sending love and prayers. Katrina

Obviously Beth only cares for her own happiness and not even that of Harvey\'s. Keeping a child away from their parent NEVER brings happiness and breeds resentment over the years. Their relationship feels as if it\'s faltering if she is going after Cevyn. She is not a secure woman in her relationship with Harvey because if she was she would know how vital it is supportive of their father-daughter relationship.

May Cevyn find her own strength and path and understand that this is not about HER and that she is only the whipping boy for Beth\'s unhappiness. So very hard to not personalize when it does feel like such an attack, I know...Deepest of sighs...

Such gratitude that she has her grandparents and a safe place to unload this \"stuff.\" Perhaps a new freedom she will feel not being under the punitive hold of Beth and I hope that Harvey will keep an eye out on his daughter as we only have one crack at parenthood and he needs to be doing what is right by his daughter.

Loving care dearest Marlene and prayers for Harvey to get his head out of his backside and stand beside his daughter as that IS his place.

Oh Marlene, I hear your anger and frustration. I totally agree with Joanie\'s words above. Having met Cevyn at the retreat last year, I see first hand how mature, independent and responsible that Cevyn is. And she knows how much you and Joe love her. She is blessed to have you both as trusting grandparents that she can turn to at all times for love and understanding.
Hoping for all the best to work out!
Love and Hugs,

Oh Marlene I am so sorry to hear this. Our grandchildren are our hearts. Sounds like she is a very smart young lady, but I do think Dad needs to step up for her. Sending prayers and healing for everyone.

Oh my, Marlene! I hope that Cevyn is doing well at her friends house! Do you think some of this has to do with the fact that Cevyn is not Harvey\'s blood child? I am definitely not siding here, but I know that step parenting is very difficult and when that step child becomes an adult, one may feel that it is time to stop. Also, you have told us that Cevyn went through a lot of money and still needing someone to sign a car loan? Don\'t be mad at me, LOL, just maybe thinking of some things that may be going through Beth\'s mind as a person who has been a great influence but maybe is putting her foot down at this point? Love and hugs, I will miss you SO much at retreat, but it does not look like I will be going back to work any time soon (if ever, according to the doctor). Kisses

So sorry for all of you, what a problem, long distance at that! It\'s a dangerous age for a girl to be on her own, without a loving adult watching out for her. It might affect her studies, and that would be awful. What can you do? Just love and support her. Your s.i.l. is probably unable to deal. Can they see a therapist? the three of them? a good professional who won\'t take sides? love, abby

Just wondering if it would be possible for Cevyn to move closer to you?? Is there a school close by?? I am sorry for the stress her stepmother has put on her and you. Hoping everything works out well for everyone...

Cevyn and her friend are planning to move to Alberta at the end of the school year. Cevyn is going to be taking a mixology course, hoping to find a good paying job. Right now she has 2 jobs in order to pay bills. She isn\'t complaining but it is going to be tough when school starts.
Cevyn met with her dad (without Beth) and told him how she is feeling. She told him she is moving out of the house. She said she thinks he doesn\'t really believe it. Has he learned nothing? Cevyn has a lot of her mom and me in her. When we make up our minds, we do not fool around!
