CECILIA PAYNE-GASPOSCHKIN discovered the universe is made of hydrogen but she doesn't have a penis
"Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin DISCOVERED that the universe is made of hydrogen. This is a "secret" because she is a woman?!
Since her death in 1979, the woman who discovered what the universe is made of has not so much as received a memorial plaque. Public newspaper obituaries do not mention her great discovery.
Every high school student knows that:
Isaac Newton discovered gravity,
that Charles Darwin discovered evolution,
and
that Albert Einstein discovered the relativity of time.
Shouldn't they also know that Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin discovered that the universe is made of hydrogen?
... when it comes to what the universe is made of -- the composition of our universe, the textbooks simply say that the most abundant atom in the universe is hydrogen. And no one ever wonders how we know what this atom is, and WHO discovered this?!"~ Jeremy KnowlesCecilia Payne-Gaposchkin, a truly extraordinary woman.

Well better late then never. Congratulations on your discovery.
actually an old friend\'s daughter found this. and my question as i read it. WHY in this day and age, isn\'t she getting proper credit. its embarrassing that our country is that far out of it. in scandinavia, i bet they are taught this there.
Goodness. I can see where the humor is in the cartoon, but the sarcasm is well placed. It\'s ridiculous that in this day and age there is still a lack of proper credit given to women. In many ways! This one, discoveries, for sure, but right down to us still not being paid equally to our male counterparts. That\'s been going on forever, I think.
Why not give credit where credit is due? Who benefits from this? I\'ll never get it, but it\'s ok. We know how smart we are, don\'t we!! BOOOHAA!!
