CD 3 blood test/SIS Test

So I've gotten the ball rolling on these fertility tests. First, I went for my cycle day 3 blood test last Thursday the 19th, the day before I left for Mexico.  That test checked the following hormone levels: Estradiol, FSH, LH and Prolactin.  My results were all excellent.  Estradiol=40, FSH=5.8, LH=2.9 and Prolactin=10.1.   Today I went for the cycle day 8 SIS test (Saline Infusion Sonography) which tests for fibroids, cysts and endometriosis.  It also ensures that my fallopian tubes are opening properly and everything is the shape it needs to be in.  I do have some cysts on each of my ovaries but RE said that was completely normal and does not effect fertility.  It could, however, be the cause of some extra cramping I have throughout my cycle.   Everything else was normal.  I had normal flow through the tubes and my lining is normal.  The test itself was okay.  A little uncomfortable with cramping during the procedure and after the procedure, it was a little messy because as soon as I stood up, all the saline had to come out.  No big deal.  The nurse gave me a pad and I was good to go.  The next test will be another sonogram on cycle day 14 to test the size of my follicles and to be sure I am about to ovulate.  I guess there's different "levels" of ovulation.  Although my ovulation test last month said I was ovulating, RE still wants to check the level of ovulation.  Then I will go for cycle day testing 21 which tests for I think, progesterine levels.  Again to be sure I ovulated.  My BF has made an appointment with his RE to get the male fertility test completed as well.  As soon as we get those results, my RE can determine our next step.  I may start a round of chlomid or I can go to the fertility clinic immediately and start artificial insemenation.  My RE said that will be my choice depending on how soon I want to be pregnant.  I'm not sure what my choice will be from here. Of course I want to be pregnant right away, but I'd like to take all the steps in trying naturally you know?  I guess we'll just take it one step at a time.

You really are being proactive which is great! It is great that your RE did all that for you right away and is offering AF. That is a big decision to think about. I really am praying for that BFP for you really soon! You deserve it! :o) Glad you had a great time in Mexico...vacations are never long enough!
