CD 15 Follicle Re-Check ... All ready for IUI on Wednesday!
So, I went back in this morning for another u/s and I have at least one mature follicle ready ... and two others that MIGHT mature before IUI. Here's the information I received:
My Left Ovaries didn't produce any useable follicles (but I ovulated last month from my left) ... only (2) follicles at 5.4 and 7.3 ... so those are useless. But, my Right side is looking better!
Right Ovaries:
(1) @ 18.6mm(2) @ 16.7mm(3) @ 15.8mm
My uterine lining is up to 10.5mm! So, that's much better than the 4mm it was on Friday. And, they like to see above 8mm, so I'm good with that! =)
I'm set to take my Ovidrel Shot this evening (between 8:00PM and 10:00PM) and I go in for my IUI on Wednesday Morning (8:00AM)!
I'm glad I have at least one mature follicle, but I'm hoping the other 2 on my right side, catch up by Wednesday morning! I assume if they grow 1-2mm a day, the other two should be above 18mm by Wednesday morning!
Thanks for all your support, I'm a little nervous about my first Ovidrel shot ... my husband is scared of needles and I'm not so sure I'll be able to give the shot to myself! But, I'll do what needs to be done! =)
I'll update again after my appointment on Wednesday! I'm trying to stay optimistic ... I'm pretty excited to start the IUI, I know our chances are still very low ... but at least we are trying something new! My husband and I BD'd last night, so Wednesday morning it'll be about 2 1/2 days for his sperm to build up, I'm hoping his sperm count will be OK. I was hoping to time is to be right around 3 days, but you can only plan so much! I never got a recommended length of time, but I assumed since when he does a SA, they want it to be 3 days, I thought that was a good length of time ... so 2 1/2 days SHOULD be good enough. I guess I'll find out on Wednesday!

I read your title as you had 15 follicles and your IUI was Wednesday and I was thinking you were crazy doing an IUI with so many follies. It took me a few times reading your title to see it said CD 15, LOL

Good luck to you! I\'ve been told that for IUI they\'d like us to have sex no more than 5 days prior and no less than 2, so you should be in good shape :) I hope it works out for you! I should be having IUI mid-week as wellso baby dust to both of us!

Good luck you and me are right on the same track seems like!!(Except i am doing IVF) I had my Ovidrel tonight at 9PM and will be having my Egg collection on Wed morning at 9AM! The Ovidrel shot itsn\'t a big deal once you have it done you will think why was i so scared about this? That is what i did with my first one! An 2 1/2 days will be fine we always try for 3 also but its hard to plan like you said! Good luck to you if we both get pregnant this cycle we will be due around the same time! How fun! Lots of baby dust your way!!!!

LMWT - HAHA - 15 follicles? I can completely understand how you could have misread that. Absolutely NO way would I do an IUI with that many follicles, and I don\'t think they would let me either, haha! Thanks for the good luck!
Lindsey - Thanks for the advice, it makes me feel better that we are in between the 2 and 5 days of recommended sex before IUI. Best of wishes and baby dust to your IUI this week as well!
MrsFrog - Thanks! It sounds like our cycles are almost identical! As yes, i had my ovidrel shot last night at 10:00PM, I had a close friend who is a nurse come over because my DH didn\'t feel comfortable and I didn\'t know if i would be able to give it to myself. But, like you said, it was not a big deal, and I barely felt it! If this time is unsuccessful and I need to do it again, I think I could give it to myself! I know my DH has a lower sperm motility, so I wish we could have planned it more towards 3 days, but yes, 2/1/2 should be fine! I guess I\'ll find out tomorrow, as long as his numbers are decent enough to go through with the IUI. AND yes, that would be fantastic if we both got pregnant this cycle!
