CD 1 - Start of First Clomid + IUI Cycle
CD 1 - AF just arrived this morning, as I threw myself a pity party this morning with a Hot Coffee and Donut as another unsuccessful month, I also started to get excited/anxious about my first Clomid + IUI this upcoming month. I'm trying not to get too excited, because then I'll be even that much more disappointed if I get a BFN. So, here'w what my upcoming month looks like + My husbands appointment with a interventional radiologist to discuss an embolization (because of a moderate varicocele in his left testicle)
CD 3 - CD 7: Clomid (1 pill, daily, for 5 days) (To help grow follicles)CD 3 - CD 10: Estradiol (2 pills daily, for 10 days) (Supposed to help thicken my uterine lining to help the egg implant)CD 9: My husband has an consult appt. with an intervention Radiologist at 8:30 AM to discuss the embolization of his moderate left varicocele. (This might be what is causing his low sperm count/motility/morphology). CD 12: Scheduled u/s appointment to check size and numbers of follicles at 7:45 AMOnce I have a mature follicle I'm supposed take an injection of Ovidrel, then 32-36 hours after I'm supposed to go in for the intrauterine insemination (with Sperm Washing). I'll then start taking progesterone 5 days after my Ovidrel injection, this is used to help maintain a pregnancy (if pregnancy occurs).
I'm excited for my first cycle of Clomid, but a little anxious about potential side effects .. and don't want to get too excited, but I know my DH's numbers are on the low side (my RE says it's still OK enough for an IUI - but definitely on the lower end). He said once we get to the sperm washing, if his numbers are too low, we'll cancel the IUI ... so hopefully they will be "good enough" ... especially because this is all OOP since insurance doesn't cover any AI, IUI or IVF.
If anyone has any direct experience or advice about this whole process or what to expect, I welcome it! Otherwise, I will just keep posting updates! <3
