Carousel
Dear Carousel , spinning world of dreams. It seems so beautiful as a child , to just get on and escape life.A vertigo of colorful lights and make believe horses.Smiles echo and laughter shines through the grim crowd breaking mirrors and boundaries wherever they land....Everything seems so perfect. Families rejoice and placate each other with cotton candy and wishful thinking. In the back of your mind , you know this is too good to be true. After all , who is truly a nice person without it being for their personal gain? Is there a yellow brick road? Is there a cheshire cat? Where did the chicken's golden egg actually go? Oh that's right , it was killed to serve "our needs." Whispers start to form inside your mind , doing the speaking drilled in you from years of daytime television. Then , the ride hits a sudden halt and you realize - your two minutes are now up , your tokens are no longer good. you fall off your horse , and you are back where you started again. With eyes pointed down , that itch inside your palm and a selfish desire to endulge yourself with the simple " pleasures in life. After all , What is life without all the trinkets and bells? What is God without a society to worship it? God is just the reason we are supposed to be nice to each other. An attempt to keep morality in check , and murder rates low. The only real sin is being Naive. I say get off that horse , and never get on again.
