Car Won't Start
Well, I got over the donna wannas Tuesday and went to Walmart to get my meds and maybe some clothes and cordless phone. Needed the phone because I was missing calls when I had to get out of the chair. There was an electric cart close by when I got in, so the clothes and phone came into play. After getting the stuff from Walmart, I headed to my grocery store. There were 10 cars looking for parking spots when I got there so I decided I go early Wednesday morning. Got in the car about 7AM and it wouldn't start. Now, I wasn't going just for Turkey fixins'. I needed the normal week's supply and it wasn't going to happen. When the visiting nurse came by to change the bandage on my leg, I told her I was giving up and she didn't need to come by anymore because with no food, there'd be no me. She kept telling me that could be a light at the end of the tunnel and asked what I needed. I showed her my list and we narrowed it down to the basic essentials and she said she'd take care of it. Unknown to me, she went to my neighbor's house and told her what was going on. She knows that Virginia has helped me several times. I didn't think much about it till I had a knock on my door a couple of hours later. There stood Virginia and her mother with bags of can goods, bread, potatoes, tuna helper with tuna and a cookie kit. And she told me she's have Turkey Day dinner for me. This is from a family who didn't have gas money to get the hubby to work Wednesday! About an hour and a half later, the nurse, Patty, showed up with the essentials, bread, milk, American cheese, bacon, eggs, a frozen pizza, and a 12 pak of Coke Zeros. Well, I'm pretty much fixed up for the next few days and hopefully will get the car ready so I can get to the grocery store and do the laundry. I'm going make make that Turkey Day dinner I'd planned. Its just going to be a little late. I'm constantly amazed and what people will do to help others. I'll be one of those people. I'll join the ever growing crowd of people to care about others.

I know for me growing up orphaned as I did in foster care here in California I have always been caring for the needs of others. I grew up thinking that was just what it was to be human but living on this side of \'need\' I have learned the bitter truth that greed mostly is what you find when with severe disability without family to care and friends all got tired of waiting around for me to \'recover\' my health so I could jump back in and enjoy life without them once again. When people see that I am alone without any caring they just rationalize that I prefer it somehow that way and move on with their lives. I\'ve given in to truth and live much better these days because of it. I\'m safe in my home when others are not doing even that well these days. I\'m just thankful life is not even more of a challenge. Yesterday, WalMart delivered my ordered groceries via FedEx and that means today, even though not traditional Thanksgiving fair is also not a day of starvation as is with so many these days. I\'m warm in bed resting listing to lovely music and with enough food to eat -- yes, that is thanksgiving to be sure.
((hugs)) shared precious Mike. I\'m glad you are being cared for.
