cant stop hating my parents

I really enjoy---too much---hating my lowlife parents; it wasn't something brainwashed-me was able to do most of my life, and now that I can, I just can't stop.
My parents were two drunken, cold-hearted, stupid, nutcases who treated me like dirt---while they believed they were better than everybody else, and that I should be grateful for having them as parents.
My idiot dad wasted most of his big, Bethlehem Steel paychecks at bars---while being too cheap to ever give me a dollar without my having to ask for it.  My evil mom was forever getting new livng room furniture, giving the old stuff away, including the carpets, while my cold bedroom only had cheap oil cloth for the floor.
When I was a kid in school, the teachers could slap you across the face for saying the wrong thing---and I got slapped enough.  That, being bullied by other kids, my evil mom phoning up people I complained about, my worthless dad kissing people's butts and ready to cry if I complained...enough for me to be silent about any abuse, and just shrug everything off, for decades.
Seeing "Long Day's Journey Into Night" on tv in 1979 wised me up, temporarily; that family reminded me of my life----but then, in 1980, during the July 4 weekend, when I was 21, my evil mom had the police take me away in handcuffs to the mental ward, cause I wouldnt come home at an eight o clock at night curfew!  She told the neighbors her plans, so about 10 of them were standing outside as the cops led me away.  At age 21, me already too broken to realize how traumatic and humilating that was; just something more to shrug off.
A Sunday, predictably, for me to think about this---cause my scumbag, drunken, dad, would take me to church, 8 miles away, to his hometown.   It wasn't till last couple years that I realized my drunken dad went to church in his hometown ONLY to show the people in his hometown that he had a car and job, after being farmed out when he was a kid, cause his own dad was a drunken loser.
My evil, toothless, mom slept on the sofa, my dad in their bed---which is probably one of many reasons they never encouraged me to have a girlfriend.  My hateful parents also never encouraged me to go to college; they were probably jealous of educted, affluent, happy people.  I went from being around semi-illiterate lowlifes my own age when I was in my early 20s, to mental ward outpatients in my 40s, to now having cats as my only friends.
Me 4ever hoping,  by posting just some of this craziness, that I get it out of my system.

As abused adult children we will NEVER get it all the way out of our systems.

But hopefully the times between flashbacks can become longer and more peaceful.

Thank you, TroJanThunder, for your reply, though I just write such journals to hear myself complain;)

I do tell myself I should be glad for the roof over my head, for a # reasons.

Just a couple hours ago I learned that somebody i knew back in the 1980s fell to the ground when the balcony they were on collapsed under them. It\'s not a sense of misery loving company, but still another example of the town they live in. There are towns about 15 miles away I keep on wishing I could move to---but their buildings are forever falling apart, burning down, or being condemned And, I would wind up homeless, or crippled.

And, the semi-homeless thief of my prior journal was arrested a few days ago; the other tenants told me of him making trouble outside after midnight---half deaf me slept through him and the 3 police cars outside.

I think Sundays, of all crazy days, just brings back bad memories for me.

Sundays are hated by many ppl for many different reasons. The end of the weekend if you are having fun. Returning to work at a job you hate. IMO Sundays are supercharged for many ppl. My life is pretty peaceful right now but I remember when Sundays were so depressing for me because I had to move from one semi happy semi awful situation to another. Prolly does not make too much sense to you. I\'ll explain more later.

Penntucky, I used to think angrily and obsessively like you do now.
All this rumination makes it worse! Please, I\'m begging you - can\'t you get on antidepressant therapy? It almost totally stopped the rumination, in my case. I was able to focus my energies on things I needed and wanted to do, instead of being held hostage by my own brain in rumination overdrive. You\'re such a decent and good man... and I just hate seeing you like this.

thanks again, WetNoodle@; I\'m definitely planning for my nonsense, at least re the past, to stop....today splurged on a bottle of wine!, $8 for burger and fries, a dollar can of tuna for my cats----so that has stopped me for today.

I even got it into my head, an hour ago: \"I gotta play up to my strengths.\" I have at least realized I\'ve survived this long, on my own, despite my stupidness.

\"no use in ruminating\"---a sopranos episode I have on dvd; even gonna watch some sopranos, on new years eve.

....the wine talkin, for such a long post.

OHI JUST LOVED THE SOPRANOS!
Wish I could be there to watch it with you!

some used dvds of whole sopranos seasons for a mere 99 cents, and shipping, online---though I shouldn\'t be telling you this, cause there\'s a couple more seasons I\'m hoping to buy for ultra-cheap.

(thanks again, for the kind words.)

Yeah. Your parents are dead and gone, so best to stop letting them win. I know. WAY easier said than done. Enjoy your evening with Tony! We are going to have a Three Stooges marathon.

Dang!
I would be more than happy to spend New Years Eve watching Sopranos!
What a honey of a deal you got yourself there, big guy.

thanks, TroJanThunder,

I do sometimes say to myself how I let ghosts control my life (strictly figuratively speaking)

I am guilty of liking...colorized...3 stooges episodes

WetNoodle2,

gotta bide your time with online sellers for rare great deal to come up, with some of them costing the sellers more in postage than what they are actually selling the used dvds for!

meanwhile, I\'m a total cheapskate about replacing my falling apart shoes---though I\'m gonna force myself to do that this week.
