Can you believe it... I'm able to eat nuts again

My last entry was one year ago...  my regimen is the same as I've reported in a prior entry, and I continue to feel good, have energy, and (most importantly!) my gut function is amazingly without incident.  But, I believe there is one more puzzle that I finally solved:  I eliminated orange juice (and then all juices) from my diet, and substituted applesauce as the vehicle for taking my many pills (all supplements and vitamins, no pharmaceuticals).  That seems to have been the last key:  my bowel function has now returned to the way it was when I was in my 20s...  no problems, no variance, no upset.    In fact, about 10 months ago I decided to try adding nuts back into my diet.  I started with cashews, which are fairly soft.  No problems, good!  Then I tried pecans, also ok.  Walnuts, yes!  Have not tried almonds (I ate them the weekend of my hospitalization in 2004), don't want to push it too much.  I have eaten a few sesame seeds, and recently added pine nuts.   For me, this is the true test of whether my condition is under control.    I'm being sensible... don't eat too many at a time, and not every day. FWIW. I hope you are all improving out there!  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions -- email me directly at pmrose@buffalo.edu, as I don't stop by here very often.  In health,  Pam
