Can't get off the Runway
I am at flight once again. I can't seem to sit still or stay in one place for more than a couple of weeks. Trying to figure out what triggers these feelings. My counselor does little than listen to me talk-I'm looking at a pychologist now. I need something more than getting prescribed the newest pill and something more than someone just listening. I'm like a lion going from corner to corner of the cage but can't get out. I think a little has to do with not being in control of what's going on in the world.
I delivered groceries this weekend-most of the people were elderly who were not leaving their houses and they were very greatful. I felt good that I was helping people.
I need to figure out the behavior and how to cope with it. Thank God-I still have a job today. It's day to day now I fear. But,
I suppose I wll be no better than the other millions of people who have lost everything in the last few weeks. You make the best of what you can get/have at that point. Atleast I am already pretty much down to the basics.
Wishing you all a healthy week-keep the faith.

Day to day is a good approach I think for all of us right now. I think it's wonderful you delivered groceries to folks. Glad you took that on. Feels good to do something for others, to be of service to others.
Hang in there!
Thanks RMB-I'm just trying to get settled down which I find is very difficult now-I can't seem to find anything that quiets my mind.
It's hard especially if you're an overthinker and especially when distractions are so limited. Have you tried guided meditation. I'm sure there's stuff on line that you could access. There are phone apps too.
Thanks-Ill try them.
I'll add my vote for taking ^it^ a day at a time. Control what is going on in the world? Ha. . . Control what my behaviorS? Ha to the ha of the ha de blah. I believe that the less energy I invest on control, the more energy I have to devote to merely observing life so I can enjoy when I can and get out of the way of crashing boulders when I must.
Yay you for getting your delivery gig going this weekend. Earning dinero to help yourself achieve independence is much more productive than trying, or even wishing to control what's going on in the world.
For what it's worth
Daily meditation readers are preferred meditation aids. Guided meditations are a bit to much like watching Tele for my senses. Does Hollywood have Most Boring Award Ceremonies? "Meditations For People Who Worry" by Anne Wilson Schaef is my current fave followed by "Courage to Change" from the Alanon collection.
I mentioned guided meditation since it can help if not sure where to start with how to meditate. Also given the isolation and lack of contact people are experiencing, it may be nice to hear another person’s voice. Or not...
I be extremely grateful there are so many types of meditation because there are so many different kinds of people and circumstances. What works in today's circumstance might not work in tomorrow's. Don't be afraid to experiment and/or get creative.
Whatever your personal style and/or circumstance, meditation works if ya work it.
I started meditating two years ago and read some Buddhist studies for guidance. Very helpful. However I have some hip pain so sitting in the traditional positions was too much. Instead I enjoy nature walks which becomes meditation when I can quiet my mind to be present with my surroundings.
I use Insight Timer (free app) for a guided meditation after reading before bed and it’s a great way to relax for sleep. There’s also audible stories. The velveteen rabbit was a recent sweet one. (With the British accent of course)
When I thought I lost control of my life, I just surrendered! It was the best thing I ever did. It was when things began to come together in a way that improved my life. I had money coming from places I never expected, I got a new job that I really liked, and my relationships improved!
I just looked up at the sky one evening and I said, "I have had enough!....I just can't do it anymore! ....It's your turn to run my life! I am not doing it anymore!
Little did I know that getting pissed off at the universe was going to result in so many positive changes that happened so frequently, I could never call them coincidence!
God Bless
