Can't do it :(
After I got the pin removed, the doctor told me to resume my normal activities starting tomorrow....so I jumped the gun a little bit and tried to play guitar tonight. I had a hard time holding a pick and had muscle cramps and spasms from trying to do so :(.
I'll try again tomorrow. Maybe it just takes getting use to.
I think the dr screwed up my thumb....he is just a young guy.....probably still learning. He left a big bone fragment inside to make the joint more stronger, he said. Well, somehow, it wasn't in the position he thought it was in and had turned, causing a big hump on the joint and making it look like a big deformity!
I definitely cannot bend it on the joint, at all so it will take some getting use to. The two bones are somewhat fused together already having been linked together by the bone fragment. I would like to see him grind off the excess bone. It is sore and painful to the touch but we'll see. I have another appointment in 4 weeks. I will have to ask.
Backtracking a little. Last Sunday, BF and ex were talking about me behind my back however I heard every word. So I decided I didn't want to hear anymore and went for a long walk to cool off. Apparently, while I was gone, bf got into it with ex and started to pack some things to move out. To make a long story short, when I was home and saw him packing I talked him into staying by telling him the wheel bearings in his truck were too far gone and his truck was dangerous. So he decided to stay and I gave him some pointers on how to handle ex when ex gets pissed. He thanked me and said I am a pretty good guy after all!
Later that day bf had a heart problem so ex rushed him to the hospital. He was diagnosed with atrial fibilation, er something like that. So they kept him for a few days until they got it straightened out as best as they could and gave him some blood thinners and other drugs to help it work better.
He gets tired easy which is why I do all the work around here. I picked up my lawn mower motor head today and will work on getting that put back together. So I have a busy week ahead of me.
What is it they say? Idle time is the playground of the devil? er something like that!

Give the thumb time! Would soaking it or ice/heat help any? You know like for people with arthritis? I am sure they gave you some instructions?
Have fun fixing the mower! Then the ball joints on the car! HUGS!
Think about physical therapy for that thumb, if your insurance will pay for it. Using a pic means teaching the thumb to do what it needs to do and probably in small increments, starting with simple exercises. If you can\'t find a physical therapist, ask this Dr. about this. If you think he messed up, get another opinion. It can always be fixed. As for the bf...well, atrial fibrillation is a serious condition that can kill you. He\'s not in good health. In fact, he has a serious heart problem. He should prepare himself because an unprepared death is dangerous and he\'s not exactly living the life of a saint. :o/ As for them talking behind your back, I can\'t believe they\'re in YOUR HOUSE so really, see from whence it comes already. Who\'s the good guy in this situation? YOU ARE. Don\'t forget that, Bob, you\'re very special.
