Can't catch a break, can I??

I stopped by to drop off some dinner to my husband, and as I was leaving my neighbor came walking over.  She asked if the basement had flooded from all the rain yesterday.  Uhhh... WHAT??  I ran into the basement and sure enough- FLOODED!  We are renting the downstairs apartment in a 2 family house.  The basement is where we store all of our stuff.  It's the only place we have for storage.  I called the insurance company, but they said our policy does not cover water/flood damage.  I called the landlords and they said, "well, yes.  All the houses on that side of the street flood."  They could have told us that BEFORE we moved in!!  The neighbors on both sides told us that this has been going on for years.  NO ONE told us about this before we signed the lease.  I lost a lot of photos and important papers.  I also lost a lot books and a $500 baby crib that got waterlogged.  I am soooo madddd!!!

Oh crap!!!!! I am soooo sorry.... that is so very frustrating... photos are always hard to lose... I am so surprised they didn\'t tell you.... Maybe they will discount a months rent or something? Hang in there.. Here we got another tornado and it broke a bunch of stuff too... argh! What a crazy summer with all the nutty weather everywhere... enough already.... I\'ll agree for sure!!! I\'m so sorry... :-(

Oh no! Sorry to hear that. I would be devastated if sentimental photos were destroyed in a flood. MY prayers are with you.
