Calming
Yesterday's sharing in open forum turned out to be a misbegotten mess that was closed by the CLs, but the rest of my therapy efforts were effective enough that yesterday was a calm and bonding day on this little ship of fools. The children couldnae even be tempted off the farm with breakfast out. I believe that is a first for them. They LOVE breakfast out. By mid-afternoon, my hyper-drive had calmed far enough to allow for a nummy yummy nap and renewed Christmas decorating of the new house.
The children will be with the other grandparents when the house is cleared for move in. While we discussed that little disappointment, the house morphed in to the 20/20 house. I love the analogy play on the number 2020. May 2020 be a year of clear, ideal vision. Big Bro's initial reaction to the news of spending winter vacation with his mother's family, he reactively began making plans to move back there permanently. Mean rejection of everything here was part of the reaction. I am happy to say he appears to have found his balance in that equation. At least for now. He and Big Sis appear to be looking forward to coming back after a long-awaited vacation. Well. . . Long for a 6 and 3 year old in crisis. . .
I was able to manage my daily maintenence without much fluctuating this morning. A good night's rest was had by all. The other crew members of our little ship of fools seem to be waking on their own again, not quite so outrageously early as last week.
Time to get the school train in motion. . . Last week of school for 2019.

Hugs Arfie. Glad that you had a calming night.
I’ve on occasion had my girls want to go live with my parents and in the case of my eldest her father’s mother but they were brief. Even the required summer vacation for my eldest to see her father, which her little sis went to my parents, often ended up being more than enough to have them both ready to come home within the first few weeks. Kids are funny that way and intuitively aware of where stability lies that is their definition of home. At least that was the experience with my girls.
Hugs & love & support.
I think Vitava is on point with her observation. Your place is where the stability and predictability, with random surprises exist. Hugs.
Yeah, what vltava says here might be how it goes, arfie. Absence may well make the heart grow fonder such that they'll be glad to come back asap, you know?
