Calm before the weekend
Well, I'm sitting here in my bathrobe drinking coffee and fooling around on Daily Strength. I'm so glad I rejoined this website. It was 100% the right decision. It has helped me so much to get my head straight, see some new opinions, and realize that I am not alone in my various and multifarious pains. The Widows Board is especially helpful to me today as I am a recent widow.
This is really the calm before the weekend. In a little bit I am going to take a shower and go over to my boyfriend's house. A bunch of his family is in town for his dad's birthday, so it is going to be a lot of boyfriend's family this weekend. I really like my boyfriend's family and they like me, so hopefully this will go smoothly.
Around my boyfriend's family I always feel like I have to self-censor though. They are Catholics and certainly would not approve of my witchcraft. I also hide the fact that I am on Disability for my mental illness. They don't know about my health problems. And really, there's no reason for them to know. I don't tell my family about my boyfriend's health problems either.
Around my boyfriend's family I always put up the front that I am an independently wealthy full time writer which is part of the truth. I understand that I have to self-censor around them. It's just appropriate behavior.
I'm definitely taking a moment before I go in for that, though. Best to feel strong and ready for awkward questions as I go in for some family time. Another cup of coffee is probably a good idea.
About this sobriety meter, I have 649 days not 7 days, but I can't get it to readjust. Oh well. DS is a bit of a glitchy site sometimes but I am so thankful for it anyway.
