called the cops
Monday I talked to the friend of downstairs idiot, as he passing me outside; he said he'd talk to his friend playing loud music. Tuesday, Wednesday, half of Thursday I felt great, cause I thought the nonsense was done with. Then, Thursday, 7 at night, loud music that I could feel on my feet through floorboards.
7 to 930 at night I once again hoped the music would stop---I finally called the cops.
Cops came, AND since the loud music is coming from the same building I live in, there's nothing cops can do...!!! Still another police procedure for me to learn the hard way. The policeman told me its something ONLY the landlord can take care of. They did go downstairs to SUGGEST the idiot turn down the music, and he did turn it down. But, days from now it'll be loud again.
One last call to landlord re this and never again, no more calling police, no more stomping my feet re music---I just have to figure out a place to move to. Stupid me paid my rent through end of November.

Kind of a stupid excuse by the police IMO! I mean in am sure there are thousands of noisy people living in buildings with others who are trying to sleep!
Good luck. Have you started looking? Any place in mind?
Hi, again, TroJanThunder,
with my limited income, my choices are limited....went to hud, called up some building with subsidized rent. I\'m gonna be stuck in dead end hillbilly town with less transportation/etc, but...yesterday a month I\'m been sleeping in my living room, so its not as though I\'m giving up much.
Hud office waiting room: small sign of neighbors complaining about the trash people leaving when visit hud; people must show up with sodas, cans, cigarettes and throw them outside the building.
Poor abandoned cat followed me into my apt this morning, and roof cat starting to sit in yard waiting for food, but....
Many years ago in an apartment, I had neighbors who played music really loud. The base is what annoyed me as the pictures would fall off the adjoining wall. We knocked on the wall. The music got louder. Finally we fought back by playing the same game. When they were home (they were a young couple) and it was quiet, maybe they were napping or watching television, we gave them a taste of their own medicine. We had two stereos and six speakers up against every adjoining wall. With base full up and max on volume, people 12 blocks away probably heard it. We blasted them for about 10 minutes. Then turned it off. We never heard them play their stereo again.
Now you may not have the means to do that. I would clomp around in hard bottom shoes when you know they are home and asleep. No shoes to make noise. Two cans banging on the floor like you are dancing might do the trick. Tell the landlord you took up Flamenco dancing if he complains. All that music got you in a dancing mood!
Sorry you still have to put up with the riff raff
Hugs to you.
thanks, Blondie61.
yes, your way sounds great. But, the downstairs guy is too crazy, and the couple opposite me wouldn\'t like me stomping around any more than I have re downstairs crazy.
last time I talked to him, was about lasik surgery, with me saying some people see halos over lights from that---downstairs music idiot told me he sees halos....from all the lsd he did over the years.
For the last month I\'ve been afraid of going into my bedroom at night, and even the bathroom at night----cause I\'m afraid I\'m gonna flip out and start stomping from music.
And yeah, when I asked a month ago, downstairs idiot loves bass over treble.
Well, even if you can not seek revenge, think about it. Maybe it will put a smile on your face. Just think about having the biggest bad ass speakers anyone could own, turning them to the floor, cranking up the stereo and blasting the damn ceiling down. A little plaster on the head and game over!
Have you tried ear plugs? They are inexpensive. My kids use them when they study.
Reminds me of the time I Nickelbacked my neighbors! The had about 500 kids and would play football until WAY after dark when I was still working and had to get up early.
I put on the most offensive Nickel Back song I had available.put my boom box out on the balxcony and cranked it up.. It did not really do all that much good but it sure was FUN!!!!!!!!
Hi, SandyB45.
My passive revenge will be to move, so that the landlord wont have a stupid doormat like me who shovels his sidewalk and pays the rent two months at a time....good luck to him finding a decent replacement when the upstairs is a mini-group home where cops take trouble-makers away in handcuffs every few months, and downstairs a drunk who sleeps in the day and plays music all night.
Good luck Mike! I miss hearing from you!
Thanks, TroJanThunder.
I\'m, slowly, starting to spend some time in....my bedroom! Maybe getting cabin fever from spending 99 percent of my apartment time in the living room, to avoid downstairs music I can hear in my bedroom.
