Called it - but not gloating
Two new baseball hats - no clothes - and out very late two nights with no cell call returns. I called it. Yesterday when I talked to my husband on the phone he asked me for an update on T. I told him. He called T a name (and it wasn't nice) and that bothered me. *He'd never say that to my son directly - but I was offended. I asked him how can he call him an A-Hole when his behavior is because of the money he was given. I said it was like giving candy to a child. He got it! The lightbulb went on! This is the line I will have to use every time he forgets that our son cannot have large sums of money at once because he forgets. When T appears to be doing better he is better at convincing my husband that he will do what he says he'll do. And sometimes he does. But the fact is he's still using even though his behavior is 10 times better than it used to be. I am only guessing but I think it's because he's using his drug of choice and not the harder stuff he experimented with that got him into tons of trouble. Can't say for sure if that's the case or not. All I know is that I'm glad I didn't even say to my husband "I told you so" and gloat about it. Perhaps and maybe perhaps he will, at least, listen to me next time. Wishful thinking...
Good news - T is still getting up for school (although he was late yesterday). I doubt, however, that he's doing his assignments. And keeping fingers crossed he makes it to school today.
