Called doctor today

Decided to face my fears and just call the doctor about my debt and how much it would take to see him. My doctor since I was 19 just retired. The new one wouldn't renew my prescriptions unless I saw him first. But it turns out, my old debt is in collections. So my slate is clean. I guess that would be a push.

I have an appointment now. In August.

While scheduling this appointment, I begged for a prescription refill until then and the kind people at my hospital put out a priority message to whoever my new doctor happens to be. While waiting for a phone call to beg again, I got a text instead. 

I have a prescription waiting for me, called in, and ready to get. 

All it took was a little bit of hope and courage, two things I never thought I'd be able to harness. 

But I'm learning!
