Cabin Fever!

No school today, they cancelled it last night.  That means no long run for me today.  I did sneak off the gym early and get 6 miles in though.  Felt good.  But then I had to get back home, my youngest had a sleepover guest, and they wanted to cook egg sandwiches for breakfast, so I needed to be here by 9.  We did get all but 6 orders of the girl scout cookies delivered last night, but the side roads haven't been cleared at all and have a good inch or two of snow on them.  Not good for my little Honda, but I somehow managed not to get stuck.  It is supposed to be 50 by Thursday.  I hope it doesn't flood when all this stuff melts.  I almost forgot, got a strange call from my dad last night.  He was very upset with me.  I sent an e-mail out to friends and family about my running the marathon and giving them a website where they can contribute to NF research.  In the note I mentioned that I have it and two of my kids have it.  He claims he didnt' know.  He said he knew I had that "skin condition", Ha Ha.  But he didn't know that two of my kids had it.  I know I told him, but he just forgot.  Anyway, the worst part, I didn't send the e-mail to him.  The last time the girls called to ask if he would buy girl scout cookies, he fussed at me because the kids were "always calling him asking for money".  Well I was not going to ask him to donate!!!  They don't call him to sell him anything anymore.  So he found out when my uncle called him to ask about it.  Anyway, he said said we needed to keep in better touch, I agreed.  He also complained that we have lived in Columbus for 3 years and never have invited him for a weekend.  Well he hasn't invited us either, but we just call and say, "hey, we are coming to Louisville, can we come by for a visit?"  I mean, it's family.  At least I think we are.  Anyway.  We both agreed to try.  But when I call him just to chat, he always seems to not be interested in anything I have to say.  So I don't call much.  Maybe I need to just write letters, he can't sound bored by them and I can get out everything out I need to say.

It\'s nice to see the sun but it would be nicer for it to get warmer... I am sorry your dad is being so disinterested in you and your family. My dad is trying to improve things but he has a lot of years to make up. Good for you for sneaking to the gym, well its march break here so.... not going to get as much exercise in either

Glad you got a run in. ..and to me 6 miles sounds like a trip around the earth! Sounds like your father may be reaching out. A letter might not be a bad alternative, and in this day and age, it would be a rare treat. You got a lot done in spite of the snow.
