C. Diff

Well, happy to say that I'm finally getting some relief - its been 2 weeks with C. Diff in my system and the Flagyl did not do much to improve it - so I'm now on Vancocyin (250 mg, every 6 hrs = 4 x day) for almost 3 days . I would not wish this infection on my worst enemy!!! It is so painful, consuming, cramping, putrid-smelling and imobilizing! I hope that I do not have a relapse of the dreaded stuff - but understand it is quite possible if all the spore don't die. Oh- and FYI - found out this is highly contagious - didn't learn that until this week. So  if you get C. Diff - wash your hands profusely (hand sanitzier gels DO NOT KILL THIS nasty bug!) and use Lysol killer spray on all bathroom surfaces so you don't infect anyone else or reinfect yourself.

I learned the hard way that it is most contagious! both my parents had cancer and c-diff, I took care of them and I always wore gloves but a few times I didn\'t and I contacted it from them while changing their adult diapers, bless their hearts they both died just one month apart, the doctor said if you get feces under your nails its going to happen, you will get it. Hope you never have to deal with it again, knock on wood! mine cleared up with the Flagyl and I have not seen any sign of it in a long time, and yes the smell will knock you out! its awful....
