By Myself
By Myself
The hardest of all, in losing you, is being single
There is no “us” anymore
My friendships with other couples
have lost intimacy, and I am looked at differently
There is no you and me
Only me
I don’t seem to fit in
with your half of me ripped away
I work at pretending that it is okay to be the person at the end of the table
the extra that fits in the 5 passenger vehicle
arriving at the party alone
The lonely ache that is you, my other half, haunts me
And highlights my singleness
