Busy Bee is Me!
I've been doing my best to keep myself busy this past week, since I realized that everything with my brother was getting me down. Forgive me if I put in some things I've put in other journal entries, I can't remember what I talked about and am too lazy to go look. :P
On Monday, after I walked my nephew to school I took the bus from his school up to the mall to go to the dollar store. There I picked up some decorative boxes to sort and hide some of my crafting supplies into to clean up the table I had them strewn across. I also bought a folding canvas (with cardboard inside for stability) storage box and put all of the scrapbooking kits my mum gave me shortly after I got married (they're mainly kid/baby related and she gave them to me before we really knew about my IF) in. Some of my larger cross stitch kits and my beading board are in there too. I tidied up my craft supplies, so that's one part of my office that's clean. Then I went and picked up my nephew from school and that's all I did with my day. Oh, wait, I restarted a cross stitch that I messed up.
Then on Tuesday, DH and I walked my nephew to school, then went and met up with my friend Ryan (really should call him 'our friend' since lately he hangs out with DH more than he does me). Then walked up to the OTHER nearby mall (yes, I am in between two malls, one's an outdoor strip mall and is the central hub of the local bus service and the other is a somewhat decaying mall that's half indoor, half strip mall that used to have a WalMart before they moved and expanded). After helping Ryan with some of his groceries and looking around at some of the stores, we walked back to Ryan's and then DH and I walked home. Later, we went and picked up my nephew from school and I collapsed on the couch for the rest of the night and worked on my cross stitch.
On Wednesday, DH and I walked my nephew to school and then walked up to the same mall we'd been at the day before so I could hand out some resumes. DH walked up to a strip mall further up the road to renew his health card and I headed back to a tiny strip mall across from my apt building to get my hair cut. As I came out of the haircutters, DH happened to be walking by on his way to the grocery store we go to. He also planned on getting his hair cut, so I made him go while they weren't too busy and I walked up to the grocery store to get the items we needed. DH was done at the same time as me, but since he was closer to home, he went and collected Will (our dog) and met me on the sidewalk by the bus stop. After getting my nephew from school, I hung out on the couch working on my cross stitch. DH's mum came to visit later that evening, bringing hot chocolates for us from Tim Horton's. She stayed for just over an hour, chatting about things and having a nice time. It was nice to see her, we rarely get to see her and she really is less crazy than my own mother!
Thursday my legs hurt from all the walking I'd done, and felt like I'd pulled a muscle in the back of my left thigh, so I took it easy on that aspect. After taking my nephew to school, I puttered around the house, doing some small things and then spent the afternoon cross stitching. Before I went to get my nephew, Ryan showed up, so I didn't have to lock up my place when I went to the school. I live on the ground floor too, so I was able to just walk out my patio door (which faces the direction of the school) and go. Ryan hung out for most of the evening and we had a nice quiet evening.
Today, I hopped on the bus after dropping my nephew off at school and headed up to Addition Elle (a plus sized clothing store) to get a bra fitting (I had 0 bras that fit me properly that weren't sports bras!) and pick up a couple of new bras. When I talked to my mum, she went kinda crazy over the fact that I paid $99 for two bras (that's with taxes too), saying that's too expensive and I'd better treat them like gold. She's used to WalMart prices, and of course complains about their bras being expensive too. Then again, she's always complaining about prices. She's very scroogeish when it comes to buying things, and yet she over buys (cannot get her to stop buying books despite the fact she has 600+ and has only read 20 or so of them) and complains that she's got no money. Anyway, while I was trying on some bras the lady was handing me to try for fit, I noticed these two long hairs on my upper chest. I stared at them a moment going 'when the hell did these grow in and why the hell did they grow THERE?', then I plucked them and hoped to god the lady hadn't seen them when she was measuring me.
I'm not embarrassed over my big belly, I'm not embarrassed from my fresh and bright red surgical scars from having my gall bladder out, but I AM embarrassed by hair that grows in places it shouldn't be growing. I have really long but light coloured hairs on my arms that bother me, and I have a mustache (which I hate but can't seem to get any of the facial hair removal creams to work on) on top of other facial hair that I get rid of daily. DH and I discussed two optional treatments I could get, laser hair removal and laser eye correction. I looked at him and said 'As much as I HATE my glasses, I'd rather go for the hair removal. The glasses aren't embarrassing, just annoying. The hair on the other hand IS embarrassing!'
I'm not planning on doing much more today. I just have to go get my nephew from school at the end of the day (if my brother doesn't finish work in time to collect him, since fridays are generally early finish days), then I can hide inside from the wicked wind (steady at 29k/18m, with gusts at 43k/27m) and rain. I need to figure out things to do for tomorrow cuz DH will be working late (he works at a restaurant and they have a lot of large parties coming in), which means I'm alone all day.

LOVE your journal entries - seems you have been busy. But that\'s good. I cross stitch too, although I haven\'t done a project in a while. I\'m sure I have half a dozen half finished projects to work on. Glad to see you are getting out more, exercising and getting things done. I used to dread the days when DH wasn\'t home much or at all, but now I kinda make it a game, do things that I wouldn\'t normally do if he was home, watch tv shows that he doesn\'t like, maybe take a bath or just clean. I never EVER get any cleaning done when he\'s home. :)
hehe, thanks poly. I always feel like I\'m just babbling on. :)
I do less cleaning when DH is home because he\'s so used to the go go go (from being a kitchen manager in a restaurant) that he\'s cleaned it all before I even get there. I feel like I\'m moving in slow motion compared to him some days!
As for my cross stitch, I love doing it, but don\'t do it often enough. I have only 2 projects on the go right now. This one: http://content.vcommerce.com/products/802/47573802/fullsize.jpg is the one I talked about restarting, as I ruined the aida on the first try. The other one is just a small (palm sized) Christmas ornament that I completely miscounted on (that\'s what I get for trying to work on it with 3 others in the room chatting and watching movies!) and need to restart eventually.
Your mom and my husband have something in common. He is constantly buying books, and in the seven and a half years we\'ve been together, he\'s finished exactly one of them. He reads the first thirty or so pages, puts it down, and never picks it back up. I am the total opposite...there is only one book I\'ve ever put down and not finished, and that was the second book in the Twilight series that my sister forced me to read. I just couldn\'t take it anymore haha.
Awesome that you\'ve been walking so much...but crappy about the hair. It stinks that you can\'t really do anything to get rid of it...I\'m sure you already know that excess body hair is a huge red flag for PCOS and/or high androgen levels. Have you had your hormones tested? Have you brought it up with your RE? I\'m sure they could do something to help!
kDeezy, they\'ve tested me for PCOS but have no cysts or \'physical evidence\' of PCOS so they\'re hesitant to say I have it. Hormone levels have all been tested as well, but they never fully explained it to me. So far everything is unexplained, but likely a hormone issue. I really need to get my RE to talk to me more about my blood test results, I think I\'ll bring it up to him next time I\'m there.
