Burning Man, Noon

Two things to share and record. First the little then the big. But they're both big!
1. I now have my NOON license plates. Love you Andy. Every time I get in my car, and everywhere I go, you are there.
2. Andy's dear friend Case, the guy who spoke at his service? He went to the Burning Man Festival in Black Rock Nevada, where there was a temple... Case created a memorial to Andy inside the Temple of Flux. (WHAT a name!) He wrote: "the whole city is put together and taken down each year. the temple (like much of the artwork) is burnt, sunday night. thousands of people gather around in silence..so powerful..tears of joy and sorrow. such a different sort of celebration." You can see photos of the Temple and the Andy memorial on Facebook.
if you aren't my "friend" you can still view the album here:http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2081198&id=1026058005&l=c10fe214b2
I think.
Anyway, let me describe it in case you can't see the photos. The Temple is made of wood planks. It's ethereal. It swoops and curves and reaches to the sky, and the upper edges are sort of lacy and fringed, as if it is merging into the sky. From solid to spirit. It feels like a transformation of matter into energy. How apropos for a Temple of Flux. FLUX. We are in a state of flux.
I feel so sad... blessed... uplifted... connected... incredulous. The Andy Altar even included a scattering of paper origami cranes, from the One Thousand that adorned his hospice room. You can see them fluttering up the wall from the photos. Oh oh oh oh oh....... so much awe and gratitude to my son's friends. Love is forever. Amen.
