bummer

I was so excited and very confident about our presentation and knew it was VERY GOOD. Unfortunately, we had some technical difficulties and the picture wouldn't project on the screen.  It was so embarrassing because we had a huge turnout (for these kind of things) 150+ AND the administration from both the middle school and high school, the superintendent, the juvenile detective, the special agent drug task force guy, school board member and then they were just all sitting around.  We weren't sure what to do - we couldn't play music - or show any of the videos - or anything.  It was awful.  Finally, since we had two guys that weren't supposed to give their drug and recovery stories last - gave them first - which allowed my husband to figure out an alternative.  Unfortunately, since I was so frazzled - I froze for the introductions and flubbed it big time.  I can't get passed it - even though we pulled the rest of it off like a charm.  My husband was able to get two laptops going (one for notes and one for projection).  So we were able to do the most important part.
Having said that - we did receive compliments but I had a hard time believing them.  One sent an email to me and my husband this morning (also addressed to the middle and high school principals) saying that it was the BEST program the school has ever put on - and would like to see more.  That made me feel a bit better and I know we're our own worst critics but...... as time goes on -- the negative feelings I have about it will fade.
