BULLYING BY BUS DRIVER

The local bus driver was friendly---until rules changed allowing a bicycle to be put on the front of the bus so you could ride your bike wherever the bus left you off.

Two previous times I had to endure his intimidating complaints about "I can't see over the bike", with one time a passenger chiming in after the driver started, with me silently having to endure their nonsense.  This driver just plain doesn't like looking over a bike; two substitute drivers, though, were very nice to me re my bike.

Tuesday 12, I figured there would be trouble again, with me too depressed to try the bus Monday.  Sure enough, after I put the bike on rack on front of bus, paid my fare, driver gave me a very hateful look and icy "I can't see over the bike."  I went out to check , the bike was put on rack as instructions said, and I told him that, with him repeating his "I can't see over the bike" mantra, with me losing it and screaming "I'm never riding this bus again!", took my bike off and went back into my apt.

I should have quietly replied, "That's not my problem," and took my seat, but it's not safe to have to put up with such hatefullness prior to riding a bike to the side of a narrow, twisting, highway.

Yesterday I sent in a complaint to local bus company, though nothing will be done about it; they're low on bus drivers as it is.  And, I don't feel too bad about staying off the bus, seeing how there are other roads to bike, can order stuff online instead of going to stores in other towns, me one less passenger on a usually nearly empty bus, and I got to yell my lungs out at the driver :)
