brown broken eggs
So i got the donor egg talk today..My doctor basically said he doesn't want me to do another cycle with my eggs. As least we are kinda on the same page. I just don't want to put myself through this again. I have tried my best to read and research donor eggs and get used to the idea knowing that my RE was going to tell me about it. My husband is not feeling it, but I am confident that he will do whatever I want to make me happy. It's like mourning the loss of my fertility kinda. Surprisingly I wasn't a complete hot mess to hear the news. This infertility path has taken me to a place that I never thought I would be. THe loss of my precious baby, and 4 failed cycles geesh!! Can a sista get a break? Well, my doctor wants me to apply for a grant to help me pay for a donor cycle that I basically have to get done by next Wed and it's a 20 page long document that's pretty extensive but why not? Why we wait, he wants to re-check my tubes to see if they are open and if so, he wants me try au natural with meds until then. I am really blessed to have a great RE who called me at home and sounded really sad. He was like sometimes you have those patients that you want to see have a happy ending and you Makita I want to have a happy ending! HOW NICE! The practice has really been so awesome to us!!I feel a slight peace tonight that everything is going to be alright! I need to hold-on to that feeling because who knows when I might get a little cray cray again.!

I\'m so sorry. It couldn\'t be easy to hear even if you were expecting it. It\'s great that your re is so supportive. I hope that this new plan can get your your baby in the end.
Hugs
Hi there. I\'m sorry you had to hear that but am glad that you are sort of okay about it. Accepting donor eggs can be a process for some women. For me, I was dead set against it at first and just had to try with my own eggs. Then, once I found out my eggs weren\'t good, I came full circle to accept donor eggs, and like you said, the loss of my fertility. Good Luck with the 20-page \"term paper\" -- I hope you get that grant. PS Thanks for your comments and support on my journal entry tonight.
I\'m so sorry about your news. But it sounds like you took it fairly well! And what a great RE you must have to express how much he wants this for you as well. I haven\'t gotten to donor eggs yet, but my embryo quality was not that great and the embryologist said when that happen they have to assume its my eggs. Just hearing that was hard for me. Keep your head up girl! Good luck with the grant I hope you get it.. You deserve it:-)
Awww I am sorry that you have to turn to donor eggs... But I am happy you are making a plan and that you have a supportive doctor! You are a strong woman! :)
Hugs hun! I just had that talk last week as well. I knew it was coming, but it was still hard to take. And I have my moments when I break down and cry over the fact I will never be able to have children with my eggs. So I completely understand how you are feeling. Good luck with that grant! Sounds like a lot of work but I hope it worth it.
And like Alana has pointed out on my recent journals... using donor eggs is a good option for ladies like us and while the child will not be genetically yours, it will be biologically. Your body is what creates the eyes, the nose, the 10 perfect little fingers. And its just the genetics that decide how those things will look.
Hey DE sista!! First off big hugs, this past June my RE dropped the DE bomb on me too (after 5 m/c\'s) so I know how you feel! But your attitude is wonderful and your RE sounds amazing, with those two factors on your side, I am sure you will get your happy ending!!

What a sucky place to be. I hated that talk too (how wonderful to have a good RE to support you!). Nice thing about DE is you can take your time to get used to the idea, the biological clock has stopped ticking. That and you never have to inject a stim again! I feel the exact same way, I never had ANY idea this would be my path, I had never even thought of IVF let alone DE. The universe gives you one little bit at a time. From what all the ladies say, it doesnt matter a stitch once you hold the baby in your arms, and I can say for sure, from the minute they were fertilized, they were MY embryos. Your new plan sounds like a great one... you are going to get there!
I\'m so sorry you\'ve had to go through all this...but I\'m also so impressed by your positive attitude here!! I\'m so hoping this route will be your ticket to a BCP. Good luck as your continue on your journey!!!!
I\'m glad you have such a good RE whose supporting you. The donor egg board here is really helpful!
Your RE sounds amazing. It makes all the differences have a supportive doctor. Donor egg isn\'t an easy decision, and you don\'t have to decide right away. You will figure out what is right for you in your own time. Big hugs, I\'m sorry again about this cycle. Xoxo
